Sanction this!
1. Yesterday's "Easy Anti-Cheat update" disabled mods in Official Realm.

The system necessary to support Sanctioned Mods is changing. This means that until sanctioned mods are updated by their authors, they might not work in the official realm.
We are currently in communication with mod authors to find the swiftest solution to this issue for all sanctioned mods.

2. The only ever sanctioned "Bot Improvements - Combat" mod is considered de-sanctioned for over a year since the "Necromancer update". Everyone could use this mod in the Official Realm however, through a hole in the system. Everyone could... until yesterday.
But in practice, this mod does not have the necessary <Sanctioned Status: approved> mark, so obviously Fatshark does not consider this mod as sanctioned now and and won't worry about this mod being updated and usable in the Official Realm. Moreover, the mod has been completely abandoned by the author.

3. Bots are still catastrophically bad, that's a fact #1.

4. Bots need serious improvement and fixing, that's a fact #2.

5. There is a solution to the problem: sanction this instead. It's great. It is supported by the authors now!

Hah, it’ll probably be hard to convince Fatshark to approve this. Maybe it’s worth drawing their attention to the fact that effective bots are likely the future of the gaming industry—for example, the recently showcased Nvidia AI Teammate (Co-Playable Character). These aren’t just regular bots anymore; they’re full-fledged AI companions.

Of course, Fatshark stance, where they claim they could make bots much more effective but worry it might reduce the motivation to play as a team, makes sense. However, on the other hand, it doesn’t sound entirely fair, as it feels like a bit of forced manipulation. It’s somewhat similar to how Pay-to-Win systems work—yes, you can play without spending money, but your gaming experience will be miserable.

In reality, the demand for better bots is very relevant, and I’d be really surprised if Fatshark isn’t aware of this. I’d love for them to engage in a discussion with the community about it.

it killed all my other mods as well (skip intro, numeric UIs, parry indicator and other QoL mods)
Also i can't access mod manager anymore and all sessions i try to join are "restricted/can't join due to anticheat detection".

Does this happen on modded realm too?

No, modded realm works perfectly.
Yeah I rely on the bots mod to make the game viable in 2 player coop.

Whether its Fatshark improving their own bots, fixing up the former bots mod, or sanctifying this new mod, im game.
I bet when complex AI can be applied to entities game developers will still decide "...and now the allied bots get minimal code for functionality because you're meant to play with other people." again, pisses me off.

This mod was legendary. Didn't expect it to come back. Don't have much trust in FS though tbf.

With all the reduced playercount after all this time, they have to sanction stuff like this. Especially on cata it can be hard to find people.

Change the tense. It IS legendary. Unfortunately, the "Anniversary Update" broke it. It crashes the game. Let's wait for the ModDev to fix that.

And it really needs to get sanctioned. Their "bots will ruin our future and we will hobo our way through life!" stance makes no sense. Not now, not anymore.

In fact, bots in Vermintide 2 even don't need any advanced AI or anything like that.

At first step they should simply disable all the idiotic lame scripts made back in 2015 for VT1 that force bots to chase specials all over the map and hide from rattling fire while the mighty minotaur chop-chop them.

Completely disabling these two scripts — without any conditions and restrictions — improves the game drastically.

+1 Boo for anti cheat. I don't want potential kernel exploits loaded on my system. Would rather they made the PvP a separate opt in if they're going to do that.
