Whats the best character, class and why?

Best Character: Bardin (due to his lore and his banter is always fun, its also has double meaning before you know a lot about him and after you get to know a lot about him)

Best Class: Sienna, Battle Wizard
Flamesword gives plenty of THP, Famished flames is busted on DoT weapons (which Flamesword is one), you ult benefits from Famished Flames. And Coruscation Staff is just strong so or so despite not properly working with any talents (and I am glad it doesnt, imagine famished flames working on that thing.)
You can also use beamstaff, its also a DoT weapon and will melt bosses

She triggers so many people, you oght to respect it

Pug play legend and beyond
Bounty Hunter very versatile and good anti elite and boss damage

Hyper twitch tweaked with lower time counters
ranger veteran boss damage above the roof, elite damage good, ulti is fine for reviving

Onslaught
only a personal preferance but Handmaiden for mobility or Battlemage if we need more dps

Chaaos waste and cnaos waste prejours mod
Engi for the guarantited crit and boons cant f...... me up and i like the brrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Bounty Hunter, he can ends foes (and friends) with ease. Add some anxiety to your teammates ,when you walk behind them is a plus :)
