I agree and you know, at this rate and their pattern of doing this exact thing time and time again, I’m starting to think it’s intentional. Like hey, let’s release something half-assed, unpolished and in some cases between the two games, straight up unplayable. Like recently with Havoc in Darktide with the constant error code:9999 for a lot of players. This feels intentional so that they can later spend the whole next year putting out “updates” and hotfixes and beg for the Labor of Love award because they spend all year working on something that’s maybe up to snuff instead of just releasing it proper the first time.
Idk… just seems to be the pattern over and over again throughout the last 6 years. With both games. I just don’t see how putting out hotfixes and “updates” to a mess you put out that wasn’t even ready to be released, constitutes as “content”. That’s called a rework. You reworked a crappy mode. That doesn’t mean new nor does it mean content.
Tell me about it man. At this point incompetence doesn't cut it. You can't be cute and feign incompetence every time. Personally I think it's just contempt towards us.
The worst thing in all of this is that usually the modes they're attempting to rework aren't even that fun; and the mods that are fun, like Chaos Wastes, they ruin it by nerfs. I really want to know what happened to the team after Vermintide 1, because everything after the release of Vermintide 2 has just been focused on making us as miserable as possible. For example, Vermintide 1 had a great balance patch, meanwhile Vermintide 2 has just been getting weird, out of touch, changes that hurt the enjoyment of others; and now that we have Versus it's going to be almost impossible to not feel that nerfs are just for PvP content.
Yep. I mean at least we’re getting some new maps to V2 I guess. There’s that. But it has become increasingly more and more difficult for me to wanna come back to this game that I’ve known and loved for a long time. Idk if it’s just me and that I’ve hit that player burnout threshold of having over 4k hours or what. But yeah. Something’s gotta give and I really hope when and if V3 comes out, for the love of God they listen to their actual playerbase on feedback. Not YouTubers that they sponsor to showcase their game for 2 hours and never touch the game again (not even kidding. They did this with some YouTuber to show the locked and loaded update. He literally called the Daemonhost, “DemonGHOST”). Not the elitists in their secret discord server that tell them to implement the dumbest ideas. They just need to honor and appreciate and listen to their playerbase. It’s that ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ simple.
The funny thing is that you can't sustain your studio off discord cliques - eventually the house of cards will fall, all of this bad will well come back to bite you, mark my words.
This is literally the reason why I abandoned the fatshark-forum a long time ago, even though I was there for years. There were hundreds of amazing and elaborate ideas from community how to improve and fix Vermintide 2, but none of this was used.
Oh yeah, that is true and it still goes on to this day. Jsat being one of the first fan boys that gets preferential treatment and any say that goes into these crappy modes that are implemented into both games. This stems back to V1. Basically if you’re a community mod- this isn’t hard to pick out which ones- you can bet your bottom dollar, you have way more power than you should, and you heavily influence the devs into what you want in the game. And usually this works with the mods. They want said thing, they get to play test it, and they get it. And you’re correct. It most definitely will haunt them later.
Yep. And sadly none of our voices will be heard. Fatshark is tunnel visioned. Appeasing the mods and fan boys that basically work for them for free (whether they realize that or not). Fatshark is just like hey guys, you play our game more than we do, help us run in ANY direction because we don’t know what we’re doing, and we’ll grant you amnesty forever. It’s all really kind of pathetic.
Then I hope even more that the theoretical "VТ3" will not be a Warhammer-based game at all (many studios prefer their own settings to avoid paying license fees). In that case, I will skip such a game with a more easy heart.
Sir this isn't that kind of game, thankfully.
Actually I like the character creation and customization system from Darktide much more. Because proper Warhammer is about creating your own dudes, not following the Marvel-style invincible superheroes. I would switch to Darktide with a pleasure, but there is still no promised Solo Mode.
Also I would also like a separate slider for volume of the characters' voices. Because I've heard all the dialogues a million times, I just want to mute them.
