when comes to thorny rescue and offering of pain anyone know best place to get these thx.

thorny rescue is quite a bit tricky to get - i'd recommend get the twitch mode on, and set the enemy counter to 200% , go veteran or recruit and vote for the specials that can disable your teammates... like gutterrunners or hookrats.

offering of pain is just dealing damage with the wall iirc...
or was it with the boss? - i play the german version and can't translate it quite right.

ineither case, just use the hedges to deal damage.
if it is vs the boss...

go for crit bleed, guaranteed crits, and 2 times radiance in order to get up to 3 uses.
use the blackthorn thicket, to give it additonal 20% damage vs hit targets, and spam the monster with it...

then just attack the monster (i used the staff here) to deal damage, and have it bleed... beware not to actually kill it with attacks... wait till the healthbar doesn't move any more in order to get it bleeding again.

For rescue i would recommend ubersreik first mission, secret gutter runner stash will always spawn enough of them even on recruit.
get 3 teammates in middle and just use ult, when all 3 are incapicated. Its also early in the mission, so in case all 4 of you get caught you wont loose much.

For rescue: Horn of Magnus, go to the assassin secret stash and lets your bots get caught.
For Offering of pain Get hagbane, bloodrazor and crits. Just keep your hagbane ready and a potion of strenght and dumpster all your arrows into the monster. "wah? y hagbane?" cuz apparently it only counts DoT damage, dont ask me why.

First, ty all for your advice, it help me with thorny rescue, actually i try the last, offering of pain ( which is a pain ... ) i mean and first off, we talk about what ? a boss or a monster ? in the description it is said boss, but maybe i'm doing something wrong but don't seem to work for me ...

So, i'm trying to do it on halescourge, equip with dual dagger and hagbane ( atharti's delight and bloodrazor ).

Maybe it fail because each time it's my siena bot who finish him ?

EDIT: done with a friend, i think bot make me fail each time ...

I just finished the last challenge, which happened to be Offering of Pain . I hadn't played for a long time, and there had been quite a few changes to the skills, at least in name.
Anyway, after hours and hours of trying to complete it any which way (and BTW most players aren't as helpful as some people make them out to be), I finally completed it on Legend with fully armed and skilled bots - the boys (i.e. without Sienna) in Against the Grain which has the guaranteed boss spawn not too far from the beginning.
I geared up mostly as other posters suggested (daggers, hagbane, Atharti's Delight) but with two skills that IMO made the difference and allowed me to finally close this thing: Incandescence ("Radiance can stack 2 times") at lvl 20 and Recursive Toxin ("Blackvenom effects can now stack 2 times") at lvl 25. Just my 2 p. for players who might want to complete the SotT set.

Yup I remember trying to get Thorny Rescue during normal play. Impossible. I even played through deeds with more Specials. Still nothing.
I mean. Why would you let that situation happen anyway ?
I even tried angling myself, so they'd get incapacitated. Idiotic.
But every time I tried that, I managed to get some crazy good BW, or Ranger Vet, who killed all the specials at the right time anyway. So no luck for me too.
Finally gave up and went for the Horn of Magnus play. Got it pretty fast.
Still doesn't feel like a challenge though.

What difficulty did you use? I tried on veterand and champion but the stupid bots stick to me like glue and only move away from me to chase gun rats and get killed
