This suggestion is going to get hate but it's Winds of Magic. It gives you the Cata difficulty, it gives you 5 weapons. Most of which are very useful.

Shield and Spear for Kerillian, Flaming flail for Sienna, Billhook for Salt, some Throwing Axes for Bardin which gives a melee class like the Slayer a ranged option, and a Heavy Spear for Kruber. That's my pick if I had to choose one.

It gives you access to Weaves, most people don't like it but maybe you will. They've done some recent updates for it.

"Winds of Magic Illusions in Adventure
We haven’t forgotten about this! Owners of the Winds of Magic expansion can now use the illusions from the Athanor weapons of the Weaves of Magic game mode in Adventure Mode. Simply unlock the weapon in the Athanor and you will have the new illusion unlocked for that weapon!

Weaves Game Mode improvements
We’ve made some changes to the game mode to tackle some of the issues with the mode itself. For starters, bots can now accompany you in public Ranked Weaves, which should help with the biggest blocker for those lacking a dedicated 4-man group for Weaves.

The second thing is that running out of time no longer ends the match prematurely. This is the second biggest issue we’ve seen that prevents players from properly engaging with the game mode. Running out of time still disqualifies your team from scoring for the leaderboards, but at least you can still complete the match!

On the subject of leaderboards, the leaderboard will now default to showing friends’ scores only (you can still manually check the global leaderboards, though!)."

Not considering the price, Winds is definitely the first thing you should get mainly for cata difficulty and the fact it comes with those weapons (although really only the flail and axes matter much).

However, for the price of Winds of Magic, you could get 4 out of 5 class DLCs. If you aren't going to play cata that's probably the better option. Maybe 3 classes and Forgotten Relics.

Winds of Magic, Back to Ubersreik, and Forgotten Relic DLC. They all have pretty damn good weapons to use across all the non-dlc careers.

It's worth noting that Winds of Magic has a couple "downsides" that are unavoidable... Olesya will move from her spot and no longer comment on/around missions, and it will allow for Beastmen to spawn in appropriate missions whether you want them to or not.

Beastmen spawn regardless of if you, or anyone in the lobby, owns Winds of Magic. They are just part of the game now.

Don't buy Winds of Magic if you are not already invested in the game.
Cata difficulty is demanding and offer extra challenge, it's not the first DLC i would recommend. Weaves are still underpopulated despite the recent changes.

Bogenhafen, Ubersreik DLC are much more worth it to begin with.
Careers and forgotten relics are nice too, add more options to enjoy the game.

No way, don't get Winds of Magic. If you have to ask "what DLC to get?" you're not likely a veteran player, Cata difficulty is for the most hardcore Vermintide 2 players. Darklight answers from his perspective, not yours.

I think some of the best DLCs are actually classes:
- Warrior Priest
- Necromancer
- Grail Knight
Whichever of them 3 you like best. Sister of the Thorn and Outcast Engineer are not really that impressive but these 3 are.

If you want more maps:
- Shadows over Bogenhafen
- Back to Ubersreik
I like Shadows over Bogenhafen more, but everyone has their favorite so it's not black and white.

And then finally. If you have all other DLCs and want something more:
- Forgotten Relic Pack (extra weapons)
- Winds of Magic (Cataclysm difficulty and a game mode nobody plays)

Sister of the Thorn with Deepwood Staff is one of, if not the best career for a bot and the Outcast Engineer was made far too strong, even after two nerfs he is still the one who simply blow up anything.
The Necromancer brings you the Encorcelled Reaper which is very good, but you can't use the staff from this DLC for Siennas other careers and Battle Wizzard is probably her strongest career anyway and you can take Unchained with you as bot due to the thp she gives to the whole team and her good damage reduction for herself.
I would say the Necromancer should not be your first choice, but it can still be useful.
The Sister of the Thorn however is a career I actually don't want to replace in my solo runs.

I wrote up a guide that explains each DLC with a bit of depth, and what they offer. Feel free to check it out: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2884788731

It’s a really big read if you plan on reading thoroughly about each DLC, but if you only focus on the ones that interest you the most it shouldn’t take long to get an idea of what you might like.

That reminds me I gotta edit the guide to implement Sienna’s new career when I get home later today. Totally forgot to do that when it came out.

edit: it's all in there now. you may not care, but just a heads up in case you do.
