Mission of Mercy is stupid as hell
I don't know what moron designed that mission, but they need to be released and then beaten. What an amazingly hard mission for no reason but to punish players. That end room to freaking run around while constantly swarmed with not only minions, but specials, is the stupidest level ever. The difficulty of that mission is so far above the rest that you should reward an emperor chest for playing it, let alone completing it. That mission alone will get me to turn off the game and go play something else. So if that is your objective, to make a level so hard that people don't want to play your game, then mission accomplished. I can't believe this hasn't been fixed. And this is on veteran level...I can't even imagine trying to play it on a harder setting. Fix the damn mission so that it is in line with others, or warn players ahead of time, because risk <> reward by a mile.

just bring a few barrels to the end if you struggle so hard with it

Man, if you're having trouble with Mission of Mercy, wait til you play the next level in that set, A Grudge Served Cold. That one is twice as hard, I'd say.

I don't know what to tell you about Mission of Mercy. Stick together, cover whoever has the barrel, focus down specials, you know, the usual. Also make sure you open that shortcut to the upper level before you start the event. That makes things a little easier.
Agreed. It's ridiculous. I've only successfully completed it on Ironbreaker because of how damn near unkillable Ironbreaker is.

yeah the newer maps in general dont have the memorability or the fun that the OG's had

they really ruined quickplay imo

'on veteran'
is this a bait?
because otherwise ---> skill issue

No mission in this game besides maybe Fortunes of War deserves to be qualified as hard until reaching Cataclysm+ difficulty (Cata deeds, Cata Twitch mode, high weaves etc...)

You are here on the learning curve -> _

That mission is all about being FAST, FAST and FAST. Especially the end. The longer it takes, the lesser your chances of survival become. Try organizing your team to bring a few barrels from beginning.

In fact, there's even a challenge that asks you to bring 3 barrels to the end and use them to finish the end event.

I'm curious of how the mission could be "fixed" to be "in line with others" when base maps have the same level of swarms + specials, sometimes even monsters. Some events are time based, some are wave based, some are objective based.
I'm also curious of why a game designer should be "released and then beaten" because a player is frustrated with his game experience. Please refrain to call for violence over a video game.
In scenario maps the risk vs reward occurs with grims and tomes, so i don't get why simple completion of mission should give a better reward (let alone participation). Only exception being Fortunes of War where there is no books to collect.
If you want more risk vs reward or participation chests, i suggest Chaos Wastes, a roguelite game mode where you can earn chests even when losing, depending on your performances.

If a game is frustrating you to the point of violence outbursts, please consider professional help, as it is not a healthy behavior.

Nope. It's one of my favorite maps. It has a high requirement for good teamwork, which makes both the steam room and the end quite trivial. Poor teamwork is almost a guaranteed fail unless you have players good at clutching.

Obviously some people commenting here are living somewhere else.. Tis by far the hardest of the dwarf missions, 2 gauntlets in 1 mission where in the 1st, due to fumes and fog, you can have monks or elites right on you with almost zero time to react, difficulty level ofc applies in everything, Legend simply has higher hp, dmg for enemies and some extra spawns, then the end can be tricky, you need to move on the level above and lower the platform, that way you get easy access from bottom to upper level, still, the guys saying its easy are probably comparing to FOW Cataclysm or smt.. obviously compared to Into The Nest or any other main campaign mission, Mercy is way harder, especially if you havent played the mission before, you easily get lost in the end event.
2 Missions why I don't play Legend quick play.. Mercy and Tower of Treachery (cuz the barrels at the end are beyond buggy - yeah I know ghost skulls can hit them and they are very sensitive but fr, they explode if you breathe a bit too hard near them).

Teamwork makes it easy. Most often there's poor teamwork and that turns all of these high pressure mixed spawn events into death, even on lower difficulties where people usually still have lots to learn. Screaming Bell, Morr, Athel, Convocation, both Treacheries, Engines are all very tough when everyone breaks off doing their own thing instead of teaming up and covering each other. Some maps are easier to clutch than others, but those with additional tricky objectives in the mix become especially tough.

Screaming Bell is generally considered quite easy and is a popular map to grind so there's a better chance that people are aware that its ending requires more than getting there did. Yet, I still often see unnecessary failure due to overconfidence and lack of teamwork. Mercy has a bit extra since the steam room spawns many more shielded stormvermin than usual and when you don't have people that can quickly kill them, it becomes like fighting patrols during hordes and specials in close quarters. There are tricks to make it easier when things go wrong, but that requires more knowledge and skills which is a bit rare in random groups. With the right career I can usually clutch Mercy, but I find Screaming Bell to be much riskier when things go wrong.

Edit: Forgot about the barrels in Tower. They're like normal barrels but lighter so you can throw them farther. You can score with a running jump shot from the outer edge of the main area. You can also pick up a barrel, drop it, kill the skulls and then score. Takes longer but is safer for the barrel. Normal barrels also light up when hit by the least amount of damage. The difference is that the well won't accept damaged barrels, while normal barrel deliveries do (Magnus Tower gate, Hunger cart, etc).

you can throw all the barrels to their spot from the ground level except the top one next to the bell.
one of the quickest finales in the game
