- Yes the game should stick to the End Time lore, as it's an End Time game
- DT came out roughly, they are working on it, stop worrying, it's already starting to be good
- We do know that FS doesn't want to abandon VT2, and it's still going to get content other than Sienna 4 and Treachery 2
- There won't be any career after Sienna 4, an that's alright, normal maps and weapon dlc will be good on it's own right.
- Nothing to say here
- Saying Might and 100% is an Oximoron, in addition, if the Undead appear in VT2, it wouldn't be due to Nagash, but either Kremmler or Nameless (As both are major Necromancer Lords and joined chaos)
- Nothing to say here, additional weapon have already been requested multiple times
- They have already said that there won't be any additional character (It's the U5 or 4)
- VT1 map can't be ported, they have to be remade from scratch, we do know that more content is planned other than Treachery 2, + Treachery 2 might use the same system as Magus Tower
- Beastmen should have a few unit more, and possibly the Gave as a Lord assassination target
- Versus was put on the back burner, but they haven't given up on it yet (sadly)
Side note, I would like to see more from Lord Sneek and how the U5 would adapt.
I personally skipped darktide because it was trash. Worst game design I've seen in a long time.
Examples;
Shop being on 1 hour rotation
Unable to pick map/difficulty
Only 1 career per character
Non existant personality of characters and bad customiation options
Not able to go back on character design
Penances actively discouraging teamplay
No scoreboard
Not to mention crashes, bad performance, heavy monetization and non existant story while promoting a famous 40K author as writing it.
These reasons too, but I think Fatshark will eventually address most of the listed issues
Are there now more than basically two maps you run back and forth? The entire level/map/mission design is trash, though.
Honestly, I don't expect much from Fatshark in the future or from VT2.
The biggest problems with Fatshark are: 1. their obsession with RNG and stupid-ass progression mechanics that just kill the fun and deter new players. This tendency for pointless grinding seems to get worse with each passing year. 2. their inability to put out new content that is actually polished and balanced in a timely manner - where's the big balance patch 2, Versus., re-worked deeds..etc. I have faith in the ability of the devs but not their capacity to stick to time lines. I have no faith in the upper management: grind =/= player engagement.
The core of VT2 (combat mechanics, character design, atmosphere, replayability) itself is wonderful. However, I see constant posts about "why is this game 90Gb?". I'd love to see more maps, but I think the increased size would just deter new players - and the existing playerbase probably isn't big enough for Tencent (total assumption on my part).
I'd like to see a VT3 within the next 2 years. With the same core gameplay as VT2. Different characters and different maps (maybe Lustria or Cathay). Fewer difficulty levels (no Recruit and Veteran walking simulators that bore new players). And WAAAAY less RNG loot and BS progression mechanics.
All the ingredients are there for a great game. I just think Fatshark are incapable of achieveng this with the current management, who seem to lack so much confidence in the abilities of their own devs and their own game that they seek to increase player engagement by pointlessly inflating grind mechanics. It'd be nice if Fatshark had the confidence in themselves to boil the Vermintide games down to their essentials and they gave us a sparkling diamond rather the flawed gems that they have produced so far.
Bah Sienna's next class will eventually be unearthed from the shallow grave that Fatshark stumbled across in their wanderings looking for Darktide cash.
While I would like to see a Vermintide 3 where the U5 can travel a bit further for more diverse locations, enemies, lore stuff - my expectations are super low especially when you had Darktide be released as an incomplete, funk shagged, mess of a game but still made sure to have that cash shop on day one with profit prioritized predatory practices.
I feel like you'd need a different company that is a bit more competent, willing to communicate with the community and able to foster a better community while being less reliant on chasing the money but solidifying an honorable legacy.
Rock and Stone!
