Battle Wizard - Fire Sword / Coruscation
Pyromancer - Sword / Bolt Staff
Unchained - Flail / Fireball Staff
- Battlewizard: Beam staff or Coruscation Staff.
- Pyromancer: Bolt Staff
- Unchained: Your preference, mine is bolt staff.

Pyromancer - Coruscation
Unchained - also Coruscation
Battle Wizard: Fireball Staff, good AoE damage, decent AP, good against single targets. Beam Staff is also a solid option if you go for an dot build with "Famished Flames". (The Famished Flames build gets boring quickly as your melee will be the Flame Sword and spamming heavy 1 24/7 may not be an appealing way to play. Just felt like mentioning it.)
Pyromancer: Bolt Staff, main fire is useful to keep high overheat easily, bolt is amazing single-target damage (at full charge can even cleave through hordes), if you go for an mostly melee build you can slap the "Hunter" trait on it and trigger it easily with the main fire.
Unchained: Bolt staff, same reason as Pyromancer except the part with the "Hunter" trait. You can also go for the Flamestorm staff and a AP melee (which is the Mace or heavy attack of the dagger, for DLC its either the Crowbill for ultimate AP, and Flame Flail for aoe stagger)
Otherwise, the staffs that arent named are up to taste really.
The bolt staff is great for killing armor and specials (no drop off, and penetrates crowds), but it doesn't handle hordes very well, and it is difficult to use in melee. You can also use it to kill bosses in a pinch, but it isn't the best at it.
The fireball staff felt like a general use staff to me. There isn't any role it can't do, but it doesn't excel at anything either. Pyro likes it because you can spam low heat fire balls to hit a bunch of enemies (and allies), which gives her more chances to crit.
The conflagration staff is a decent defence staff because it can give you staggers on demand (just do a quick rmb + lmb at their feet), and it has some decent aoe attack, but its damage is lackluster compared to most staves.
The flame thrower is great for efficiently killing hordes and the guys hiding behind their armored friends, and you can also use it to weaken and burn down non-CW armored groups. The primary attack (uncharged) will also stagger anything below a CW within the circle, which makes managing patrols or random armor groups a lot easier. I like running it with unchained for this reason. The downsides are that it only has a medium range (more than shotgun), it doesn't do a lot of damage to a single target like a boss, it can get you killed as unchained pretty easily, and it doesn't get crits (use barrage instead).
The coruscation staff (a.k.a. sienna's crutch) has a powerful shotgun attack and you can set fires on the ground. It does a lot of damage, but you have no range and it builds heat up fast. A lot of players like it because it can mulch all the fodder and burn up all the armored enemies.
The beam staff is good for setting everything on fire and for burning bosses down. It works really well for the BW if she specializes in the burning dot perks. You can also use it to snipe enemies, but the flinch from it and the snipe attack can be difficult to use.
Also, you if hold the ultimate button for pyro, you can use the alternate attack key to zoom in. Use this to try to get your guided fire missile to hit what you want instead of just anything nearby.
The melee weapon already gives waveclear, and most teammates have plenty waveclear. So a weapon that has good range and damage helps compliment that.
Although i dont think there are many staffs i think are bad. The Flamestorm Staff is by far the most questionable, since it leaves stronger enemies alive after walking through the fire so they can strike at you. And you cant see them that well because of the huge fire cone.
idk for pyro, she is not my cup of tea, and if you are a sienna newbie its not a good idea to start with this career i think
The only staff I would say is bad is Firestorm, yet it still does have uses. Such as on Tzeentch + Critically Unstable, probably the easiest way to melt the hordes that spawn every ~25s.
Try everything and see what you find fun; the only honest recommendation for staff/class combinations to avoid would be using the flamestorm on anyone besides BW. It's outclassed by everything else on Pyro, and it makes you uselessly team-dependent on UC since you'll have no way to deal with ranged enemies peppering you for uncontested heat buildup. BW is objectively the absolute best class to use the flamethrower on, because heat buildup from the charge attack scales with charge time, so if you run Rechannel, you'll be able to throw out fully charged blasts in less time and with less heat buildup than Pyro or UC can do single-stage charges.
This staff does struggle against ranged specials and archers, but you just need to get close enough to stagger them with the lmb burst so you can keep them from firing while you close in to melee. The range of the lmb burst is longer than you think (test it on the dummies), but it only hits enemies within the circle reticule.
I also recommend just using the basic skin, unless you want to a third of your screen blocked.
