So, what exactly is with the balance at the end in your opinion?
It just feels like a sudden urge is all. The entire map is hard, of course, as its legend. But it goes into like Legend+ mode near the end. I know some tricks of the map and starts, but less your team is coordinated enough they usually fall apart.
Most of my successes have been luck with RNG giving us a break on spawns, or the last one of us at 1 health just running to the exit. Other maps don't have this issue, least at the Legend level and I've played though them all multiple times.
The only one that is basically RNG is Convocation, and that's due to the end. I'd even take Castle Drachenfels over Convo any day - and the only reason to play it would be for the legend skin.
Makes sense honestly.
Next time you are at the end, don't go in the circle. The game will wait for you indefinitely. Near the starting area is a rock to the left. It looks like two steps. This is your meeting spot if things get out of control.
The rock is super good, because enemies have to climb to you twice to reach you. This gives you tons of free time to kill them without them fighting back. It's also right next to the spawn points, if people have died.
It's not snooze mode, but it beats getting surrounded in acid.
It's good kiting practice tho.
Another guide on how to deceive yourself and the game instead of being a team or correcting your mistakes.

the general consensus seems to be that, yes, indeed the ending event on CoD is noticeably more difficult than any other map, but it's fine and doesn't need to be re-balanced because not every map needs to have the exact same difficulty formula.
in other words, it's okay for maps to have an intrinsic difficulty associated with its level design that's agnostic of the artificial difficulty (legend/cata)
Maybe not a rebalance, but someone mentioned a bug that just ♥♥♥♥♥ over the balance unintentionally. They could prolly remove that and it'd atleast feel fair. As it aint fun essentially breezing though Convo for 10 minutes, only to die in 2 because game went "I will now spawn, 13 Chaos Warriors and 2 Hookrats"
dont touch it
CWs can`t do anything scary in that room, well, maybe with specials, but they should be dead. So maybe its not Convocation is killing, but the hooks/runners?
the main issue is the level design making it harder for you to kite comfortably, because you are stuck on a circular platform (more like a ring because the center slows you) and is surrounded from all sides
Just quoting what someone mentioned earlier. If there is a bug, it should be fixed.
Im not persay blaming the game in spawning warriors and what not, as I expect it, but at times the difficulty goes from 'ok this is manageable' to 'Did I click Cata by accident?' in some instances.
All in all, the end of Convocation of Decay is a RNG dice roll more often than not rather than 'im just good' so to say. Nevertheless, the guide someone posted in this chat may prove useful so I'll try it out.
But also yeah. Kiting in there is impossible and its why more often than not its just 1 person inside the circle (More than likely a Handmaiden or Ironbreaker) blocking as everyone else runs around outside.
I just find the map to be a muddled mess due to the end, and I never look forward to playing it as it just feels like an unfair challenge with how random it can be.
