It does not show up in Autostart. Like Adobe updater too.
And you even postet the tutorial from Microsoft thereby you contradict yourself.
So it does autostart.
Also i do not use Edge or any other Chrome based Browser. What happend is pretty easy to understand.
It installed itself together with the Edge Web View 2 when i pressed ok after starting V2.
I never had it on my PC in the first place. It was starting after the last update to force a tutorial / advertising itself like:"Look how nice i am. Do you not want me as your standard?"
Same bs what you get when you install Win and start first time.
Awesome that you can install Edge Web View 2 maybe only with the link. I will not try it. Once getting rid of all roots of Edge is enough. Had to give myself as admin permission for every folder and then give me as user permission and then i could remove the remnants.
This thing with the Bing bar was today. As i said. My dad had this too. And it was together with the Edge Browser on os start. Also like an advertisement with the note that it is a new Feature. Again:"Look how nice it is would you not like my bing search bar in the middle of your Dektop?"
When i killed the Edge app in the task manager it was gone. Now i uninstalled Edge and webviewer.
No popups when i open a link or a gif file or whatever depends on a browser to open.
My Windows is heavy debloated and telemetry is blocked. In idle i am at 0,2~0,4% cpu utilization. I do not want any intrusive software from no company.
I payed full price for my Winderp 10 Pro. So no i do not want stuff like that on my PC.
I do not want that Win search the web when i type something in the searchbar.
You can call me a liar all day long i do not care any more. I do not have to shill for microsoft only because i use there os.
is because it doesnt have an auto start option to begin with (I checked the options, the only thing that is close to autostart is "bigger priority on startup", which, you still need to open the app itself manually. Its not opened automatically.)
The tutorial I linked isnt specifically to edge, but ALL programms. Despite having edge in the name, likely because people have it turned on and Edge seems to be the most common program that pops up with that. which, since its the standard browser for windows most people likely opened edge at some point (even if its just for googling for another browser).
you also havent provided any links like you claimed that there are "so many threads on it".
Win 10 pro seems to also be not any difference to win 10 home (aka normal windows).
Edge webview2 did nothing what you said on your pc, you and your dad are the only two people who apparently have this type of problem.
Its also likely you, with removing stuff that windows has (I assume that what "heavy debloated" means), maybe also opened yourself to malware or a virus that normal windows users wouldnt be exposed to. And said virus/malware is causing the issues instead.
Because I dont have any of those issues, neither is my family, neither are the many many people I asked (which are about 20 or more).
And neither do people with win 11. The only issue with bing people have, is that its recommended through the search engine (but you claimed it just pops up, not when you searched something).
And, lets be real, if you were really trying to defend your point you would've at least looked into the 2nd link more than just reading my post (which you did the same thing as I did when I posted the link, just skimmed through without checking). Because you would have found out that edge doesnt autostart, but the feature of windows autostarts all apps that can be started if you read the link and looked at the option it tells you where to find it.
Yes, that is different.
Skim through what is said without fact checking does make your post look believeable, but since many sources go directly against what you claim (even the source I gave that is for your claim) is not caused by what you claim it is.
Either youre lying, or literally all evidence that a normal person can find must be wrong.
Your story may be true, but certainly something else is causing that issue, its neither edge, edge webview2 nor Vermintide 2. Because if it really did, there would be way more people being vocal about it (besides saying "edge bad, dont want on my pc"). Yet all it seems to be is a very, very, very minor minority.
Anyways, have a good day

Why it installed itself with the Edge Web View 2 i do not know i do not care.
When you do not install certain features with your winderp install you will have even less likely malware or a viruses. Because less contact point's or backdoors.
