Honestly, I'd be more interested in the Buff List. Blunderbuss, fire mace and Saltz' repeater pistol all need some love.
what's wrong with it in chaos wastes?
i know its a meme weapon, but the people who use it usually get stomped anyways
Bardin's and Kruber's 1handed weapons are pretty good if you know how to use them. If anything, mace and sword needs a nerf.
What needs a buff are pickaxe, crowbill. The blunderbuss could use a reload speed buff, otherwise its good.
What could use a nerf are coruscation staff, javelin, mace and sword and likely cog hammer. But if the first 2 are nerfed, id say the whole picture is largely balanced.
Modded cannot be added to the base game. Who is going to control the mods and the balance? DWONS is lightyears above normal cata. And if they continue with the power creep, they add modded2, right? Its already a miracle the community convinced them that cata should be added to official difficulty list, and they did that while offering no additional rewards above legend.
The most i expect from them though is a display of mandatory mods running on hosts in the server list, that would make it significantly easier for people to transition from cata to modded. I get a lot of connection attempts then drops because they do not know what mods i am running and they are not able to join.
I agree with that for everyone else though. Sienna's versions of those weapons have awful movesets too. For most of them, it's not even really about damage. Its THP struggles and crappy movesets.
I think the trollhammer probably has too much ammo, but it might be because I know where all the fixed ammo is so I know when I can spam shots. up to 3 or 4 shots deals with a patrol or monster. Ironbreaker has 7 max while engineer has 11 max.
Underused weapons are not being used because they aren't versatile. I can do a lot with a trollhammer or crank gun, I can kill specials at long distance if needed. I can deal with monsters with them too. While I can kill specials at a long distance with a rifle, I can't do much to a monster. While I can clear a crowd easily with a flamethrower, I can't deal with specials beyond my range or do much to a monster. But I can do most of those things with a crankgun or trollhammer.
Some weapons I'd only use because they're fun to use while not doing as well as I would with another weapon. Shotguns need some love mainly.

whats the point of the axe for Engineer and ranger when they don't have THP based on the enemy slain
Javelin. i like the suggestion reducing its clip to 1 javelin, functions the same, but you cant spam it. Increase the reload time a bit, like 0.5 sec or maybe less.
tbh after this and the already nerfed weapons there isnt anything that is grossly OP.
Elf spear comes to mind as a weapon that is very strong. Super high crit chance, single target dmg, mob dmg, high cleave, high crit multiplier (2.4). Rapier is also on the list, but

Blunderbuss, but Im not sure how you buff blunderbuss wihtout completely reworking it.
Greatsword. If any weapon has been power crept into oblivion, its greatsword . It needs some love. Light attacks should penetrate armor, buff base dmg by 20% minimum. Its so dumb that you cant crit hs and one-shot kill a chaos raider on legend without using all 4 offensive properties on that breakpoint. meanwhile...
