As is the strategy for literally every boss , have the dedicated boss killer do his job while others support him by clearing trash / letting the boss killer hit the boss by stagger / kiting it.
When he shoots at you, don't block, turn to the side and just run perpendicular to the line of fire. You will take no or only very few hits.
If you block, you will take fire, because it slows you down. Obviously, if possible, take cover behind a pillar or at least some enemies.
Other than that, treat it exactly like a Stormfriend.
As the previous comment pointed out, be aware of the trash, you have to watch your back or lose all your health to two Clanrats.
When Rasknitt starts his teleport phase, STOP CHASING IT.
I hate it when people do that. Just stand in a corner each, take care of the constant trash spawns and hit him as soon as he teleports into your corner.
The only way to effectively chase him, if you absolutely insist on it: Position yourself so that the knockback of his teleport pushes you towards his new location. DO NOT chase across the center of the arena. This is only efficient along the edges.
The more you hit Rasknitt, the fewer spells he casts.
Ranged Characters can stay in place and keep him occupied. Best position is the corner, facing the skittergate, on the left, because no rats spawn next to you.
1. If you have Deathrattler Aggro take cover behind a pillar, any of the corners works. If he charges you kite around it. DON'T stack up with your teammates, this will just get everyone shot.
2. If you don't have Aggro clean up the slaves that enter the arena from 2 corners. Once these are done turn and DPS the boss.
3. Whenever Rasknitt falls off Deathratther (which happens every time you do a certain amount of damage) have one player focus on keeping him busy so he can't cast warp lightning. But watch your back because damage to rasknitt causes rattler aggro.
The biggest mistake pug parties make is to assume that someone else will handle the adds. If everyone does that and you don't kill them as they arrive the arena will fill up with rats and people will start to get surrounded.
Advanced tips:
1. If your class/weapon is good at dodging you don't need hard cover or a shield to avoid the minigun attacks. Just back off to medium-long distance, hold block and repeatedly dodge sideways. Dodging breaks the target tracking and rattler can only aim so fast.
2. When rasknitt falls off it's possible to do enough damage to him to "kill" him before the fight with rattler is over. All you have to do is save your ults and use them on him instead of rattler. if you succeed he will do the teleport dance and then sit stunned at one end of the arena where you can finish him off. Killing rasknitt and deathrattler within a few seconds is one of the level achievements and this is the easy way to do it.
