How do I disable controllers?
I don't see an option in-game, so is there a command line option or .ini somewhere I need to edit?

Don't think you can. There is no controller vibration implemented, and you can disable the controller prompts in the menus, so it's not typically necessary to outright disable any connected controller.

Ah crap, really?? It's pretty much standard for PC games that support controllers to have an option to disable them.

Fatshark, is there any way we can get this added? Or is there a command-line option that we're not aware of? Any help would be appreciated :)

I have a disability that causes me a fair amount of pain to use the keyboard for WASD movement, so in most games I play with an xbox controller in my left hand (using the analog stick for movement) and I use a mouse in the other hand. It works beautifully, and allows me to play a lot of games that I otherwise could not.

However, as soon as you touch the analog stick on your controller in Vermintide, the game brilliantly switches the UI and all control over the controller, and disables mouse control. Why? I have no idea. But you can't use a controller and a mouse at the same time.

What I want to do (as I am able to do in most other games) is prevent Vermintide from seeing controller inputs, and then map my xbox controller inputs to mimic keyboard button presses. So when I press up on the analog stick, the computer thinks I pressed the 'W' key (I use JoyToKey to do this - its a wonderful program for anybody interested or with disabilities). But I need to be able to disable controller input in Vermintide.

I also have another controller (arcade stick) that causes issues with Vermintide that I'm constantly having to unplug and plug back in. This is not a huge deal, but it's one of the dozens of reasons that games typically give the end-user the ability to disable controller input (on top of troubleshooting, etc). I'm a bit surprised that Vermintide wouldn't have this, and I'm not altogether sure it doesn't. Still hoping to hear from Fatshark that there is a command-line operator that can be used.

Ah, I see. The game probably doesn't expect both a controller and mouse to be used simultaneously.

I'd recommend making a post in the Bugs forum about the problem and label it as an accessibility issue. Fatshark actively monitors the Bugs forum and it should at least bring it to their attention.

That's a great suggestion, I'll go do that. Thanks for the reply and assistance!

There is a option in setting to FORCE a certain UI
Under interface > controller HUD layout > NEVER

Use Steam Big Picture Mode and rebind your controller.

Has there been any update on this? I also have similar hand issues and would like to be able to use a controller and mouse at the same time. Currently I just use a controller, but mouse aiming would be nice.

I use the controller in left hand and mouse in right control scheme for every game, and I have no troubles with the game. Was it resolved for you? Maybe I can help troubleshoot for you. You need to be using the controller as a steam input, you probably need to remap everything to be safe.
