A personal letter to Fatshark and the Vermintide 2 community
Dear Fatshark and community,

My vermintide journey started back in May 2016, I had purchased Vermintide 1 and played by my lonesome for some time, till I was able to convince a friend to join me, then a sibling, then another, till I had a full team. We played on weekends mostly and had a blast smashing rats and then smashing each other's noses in fisticuffs in the Red Moon Inn. Every moment was fun and entertaining, they liked it, but not as much as I did, so I soldiered on and raked in more than 200 hours of mostly solo or QP with randoms when I could find them. I loved the game, but I had to move on by the end of the year.

By 2018, Vermintide 2 trailer and closed beta were on the horizon, and the trailer hooked me so much I pre-purchased the game without giving it a second thought (no regrets). I showed the trailer to my best friend and he was as hooked as I was and he pre-purchased it as well.

Closed beta gets released and we spent so much time in the game that we forgot it was just a beta test, day in and day out it was only vermintide 2 and nothing else for us. The might of chaos and the overall dynamic of the characters along with how drastically the game changed into an RPG-like hack and slash, we were madly in love with the game and kept playing till the last minute of the closed beta (not literally but we were addicted sorta).

Since release, I've raked in over 2200 hours in the game, and probably as much in watch time on twitch. I made so many cool friends, met a lot of cool people, joined a bunch of great sub-communities that shared my love for the game and have been having so much fun, with all the ups and downs and left and rights we had in the game, it was all part of what made me love it, nothing is perfect, but it's the imperfections that make us unique.

Today, with heavy heart, I lay to rest my GPU of 7 years. Betrayed by the capacitors and no one was able to help me revive it. It's the same GPU that I played V1 and V2 with, and shared so many great memories with friends and family alike, it was the GPU that made my gaming experience so much more enjoyable. I had bought it with money I saved up from working part-time while I was in college studying. Rest easy my friend, may you continue to render sweet frames in the afterlife, you will be missed. Thank you for everything..

And thus, as I have no other alternatives and no ability to get reasonable replacements anytime soon, my journey in Vermintide with the Ubersreik 5 and this game's amazing community has come to a halt for the unforeseeable future. I lay down my battle-scarred weapons, and rest my weary mouse and keyboard in Taal's Keep.

One really does not appreciate something so much till it's gone, or taken away from them. It only dawned on me how much I love this game and its community, players and devs alike the second I realized I won't be able to play it again for quite a while.

Therefore, I would like to firstly express my sincerest apologies to anyone I've offended, for any snarky remarks I made about the game, Fatshark, or players. In my passion for this game I sometimes get carried away and let my impatience get the best of me, forgetting that good things take time, and arguments are not won by insults or by being condescending towards others.

Secondly, I would like to express my utmost thanks and appreciation to Fatshark, for making such a great game, and filling my life with joy with an overall amazing experience and being the reason for having so many great friends and sharing so many great memories with them. Please know that your efforts are always appreciated and you have made my life that much more bearable to say the least. Thank you sincerely.

And thus,, my hunt to purge the pact-sworn has come to a halt, I'm sorry for having failed Sigmar and the Empire so early in the fight. But I will come back and join the ranks of this great community and fight along side you once again one day. Till the day I do, I pray that Sigmar watches over your battles, and wish you all the best.

In Sigmar we trust.

Sincerely,

Sam A.

If your internet connection is good enough, you could try geforce cloud gaming: https://www.nvidia.com/en-gb/geforce-now/

I have used it a bit in the free open beta and you can stream your own steam library to whatever potato pc you have and it worked reasonably well for me. :lunar2019coolpig:

If it's stock that's limiting you from getting a new gpu; EVGA web store still has reasonably priced cards- don't quite know how long the wait is but you can sign up there.
