Fix Blightstormer -OP
Not only does the blightstormer have a ridiculously large AoE, does decent damage, and throws you directly into hordes and groups of enemies which will take savage potshots on you... (Which all gets VERY annoying in Champion.)

But half of the time you can't even kill or counter him...
BECAUSE HE'S OUTSIDE THE MAP (Or behind obstacles you can't shoot past, you'd never see him there, etc.)

For example, just one of many instances, after my team killed the gatekeeper in the Skittergate mission we instantly faced a massive storm. After spamming my t key everywhere, I found the blightstormer... Behind a wall, outside of our range. And by outside of our range, I don't mean far away. He was literally right there, he was just outside of the wall in an area you cannot access as a player. Absolutely impossible to kill from ANY vantage point. And this happens way too often.

With how linear paths are in this game, you can't just say "ignore the storm." The storm is massive with incredible grabbing power. The only true way to avoid it is if you happen to be in a very, very open area, or if you kill the caster. Even then, the storm moves quite fast for something so huge.

Additionally, the storms seek out players, following them. If a player is fighting through a horde being chased by a storm, they are going to be slowed down by the bodies and the storm will catch them.

So my main complaint is that, the blightstormer should NOT be able to cast storms at an incredible range which is simultaneously out of his line of site. You can't fight back against that. That's like a ratling gunner or a flamethrower that hides in places which are impossible to shoot them in, and they can still hurt you and deliver their attacks. But instead of flames or a storm of bullets, it's an incredibly large sized storm which is hard to avoid, especially during hordes.

So one fix, I imagine, would be to restrict him to only being able to cast storms in his line of sight. If he moves behind an obstacle which obscures him from his storm, the storm dies down and he ceases casting until he decides to cast again within his line of sight once more. Or, designate a couple areas of the map which he cannot cast while inside of, such as an out-of-bounds area.

I just want to point out that the Storm is an AI enemy, so it uses the AI navigation pathing to crawl to you. There are some ways and spots to avoid them, even while being in the circle, as long as either it "loses" line of sight on you or you get yourself physically stuck in a way to not get pulled into it.

But yeah, they should probably get fixed beyond Fatshark's attempts to patch up broken walls in the maps, since that apparently didn't reliably work. Probably a range cap on casting is all that is necessary.

they shouldnt be able to cast from a range that you cant ping them from, that ♥♥♥♥♥ annoying

It is indeed possible aggro the storm and have 1 person lead it around while the rest deal with whatever else is going on. You can also use terrain to your advantage to mess with it's pathing. Both Globadier and Blightstormer can be used to thin out hordes/enemies if you do so carefully.

Blightstormers really aren't that bad unless you're playing a slayer.
Lain Nov 15, 2018 @ 6:35pm
only thing that needs fixing on them is when they cast a storm 50miles away where nothing can hit them and on the one part of skittergate at the gate keeper where they cast through 1 pixel holes through the walls around that area
They also need to be one shot by rifles with only 1 bullet in the pipe. So annoying on legend where you try to hit him, and he just teleports right after. The hitbox for the head can be a bit wonky as well. They are annoying as they are, they should not need 2 shots from a one shot rifle.

If you're talking about Bardin and Kruber's handguns, 20% Power vs Infantry, 10% vs Chaos, 10% vs Skaven will kill any Special in one body shot at any range on Legend. If you don't want to give up Attack Speed drop the Skaven part of it since it's only needed for Globadiers at long range.
I'd rather they delete the gutter runner, that or the hook rat.
I'd be happy then. Both are unfun to play against.
Blightstormers are a cool challenge. Can be helpful too.

He cant cast through objects that you cant shoot through. Sometimes it is very small hole, but still there it is.

I know only one place left on convocation of decay that still have place where bligthstormer can cast from unreachable place. ALl others (including gatekeeper arena) were fixed in previous patches.

I don't mind that a Blightstormer can singlehandedly wipe out a run, I do mind that they have no consistency to their attack patterns. I think it flat out sucks that they do not need line of sight or any limit to their casting range for summoning a storm. It's wrong that they can cast storms from outside the map's boundaries where they cannot be harmed and it's wrong that they will retreat outside of the map once the storm is cast.

Their cast time needs to be quickened, they have to be given a set range, they have to have line of sight in order to cast their storm, and they shouldn't be allowed to teleport outside of the map to safety.

but they do need line of sight. If you have any real proof of opposite (except mentioned place on convocation of decay) from current version - share it. Devs would fix that. Cause , once again, they do need line of sighht and if it seems to not be the case - there can be "phantom wall", that you see but can pass through, or tiny gap between objects hitboxes (ofc not hitboxes, but for general audience it is same) that result in this. Screenshotting or, better, video capturing it would help devs a lot in fixing this.

STORMY WEATHER, COME TOGETHER!
When a blightstormer is casting, he has line of sight on you. Look at the green lines and trace them back to his original position, now kill him :)

+17.5% power vs infantry and you oneshot them. Use breakpoint calculators my man. They are so important for higher level play.

(not everything is correct anymore if you are playing the balance beta).

Even if you don't use breakpoint calculators, shoot the dolls in the keep and multiply it with the amount of power vs that you think you still need (power vs inf and armour is taking into account but not power vs skaven and chaos), so if you have 10% power vs chaos and 10% power vs infantry you multiple your dmg number by 1.1 if you want to know how much dmg you do to blightstormers. (get power vs infantry on your handgun though because then you onehit skave specials too).

I don't get it, why power vs chaos doesn't count? What does it count for then? trash?
