Grail Knight weapons
I just bought him, can anyone say what weapons are good to use? I assume at least one shield is mandatory with warpfire blocking, but is the Brettonian sword worth it?

Brettonian sword is better than the shield. Unfortunately, shields are close to worthless in this game, and the warpfire situation is too specific to be worth it.

So which weapons I should use on the Grail Knight?

I go with Brettonian sword and mace and sword.

Brettonian longsword as well as brettonian shield is what I use, and I main Grail knight.
Sword and shield is meant for crowd control (you mainly use the shield for shield bash and shield push) plus your gunna be super happy to have it when you come face to face with a flame rat or a ratling gun since you don't have any ranged options to get rid of those threats. Bretonnian longsword is pretty much your solution to every other problem. Try to give it as much attack speed as possible

Any shield can block warpfire(not the bretonian shield only).
Any weapon is good to use but probably best use is to have weapons which benifit the most from strong attacks(executioner sword and hammer). Since you get a boost in damage for the first enemy you hit and have a tallent which boosts strong attacks.

One hand weapons like Sword/Mace are decent but if you want mobility, use Mace&Sword. Push attack gets you a decent distance and then just attack>block>release and attack>continue for movement.

Shields are uh, somewhat worthless except if you want to go a more tanky grail knight. But then again there is the great hammer with lots of stagger and your ult for chaos warriors...
You can use them but they are better of not to be used except if you want to meme around with 80% block reduction (its hilarious but not really practical).

Greatsword is decent if you dont want to use the great hammer or are not skilled enough to use the executioner sword effectively. Strong attacks do kill Berserkers/Monks pretty fast(I think its a oneshot as grail knight), if you have a hard time aiming with the executioner sword then this may be the weapon to go.

Spear, why you cant use this is beyond me but I guess since its an ungor spear...
Halberd, cant use this either. Probably because its an empire weapon.

Great hammer, it can hit anything it touches(except if there is a CW in between) and since you can boost the damage of heavy attacks you can go nuts on it with this. Its a less damaging but more staggering Executioner sword.

Executioner Sword, personally: Just use it to heavy attack spam monsters, elites, chaoswarriors. I cant say more then that since I honestly suck with it.

Bretonian Longsword, cant say anything to it since I suck with it. Sorry.

(If I missed anything I'll throw an edit under this)

You should always bring at least a shield with opportunist trait on it as gk.
Shields are not just good for blocking warpfire. Shields with opportunist and breakpoints let you stagger monks and almost everything else in the game - check the guide for stagger breakpoints on the forum

One major selling points of gk is that you always have a shield. If you bring 2 pure damage weapons its really just redundant. Shield is the way to go.

I personally prefer regular sword and shield for the pushattack into heavy combo that gives you two pokes and staggers every elite (except cw depending on attack/breakpoint) in front of you on push. The pokes are excellent sources of armor pen damage as well so ideal for picking elites out of hordes while being completely safe due to the push.

Still requires your team to be really good at dealing with specials tho.

With the other weapons its down to personal preference. Exe, Bret sword and mace+sword are the popular choices and all of these are pretty alright but have their own minor strengths/weaknesses.

As others have said the Brettonian sword is really good. Something great to keep in mind with Grail Knight and shield weapons is that you can also reach stagger breakpoints with plague monks pretty easily. This obviously helps out a ton in scramble situations as well as simply dealing with the odd berserker. Personally I kinda flip flopped between great hammer and Bret sword, with the imperial SnS as backup.

Bretonnian Sword is extremely clunky and I have never liked it. Don't get the love for it because it has awful swings that don't do well vs elites or crowds. Bretonnian Shield and Sword is good though, great at handling crowds and decent vs elites. I pair it with a Great Hammer usually but an Executioner Sword, Mace, or Mace and Sword also work well with it.

I think you should do a hammer and a sword and shield (this is what I do) it is a pretty good combo by hammer having armor piercing and more for big groups and sword for smaller groups and enemies without armor and sometimes big groups without armor because it hits fast but can be kinda weak.

his unique shield is the best staggering tool in the game, you can click right after pushing and it lets you follow up push with a shove very quickly

you put the map on its ass in just a few seconds. don't listen to any bad player tell you shields are bad especially this one, it's a super one note tool but it lets you swim through hyperdensity like nothing else.

bret sword is a great all rounder

Xsword is meta, and so is mace and sword. running those two together is pretty op, if you don't feel like running a shield.

Shields are not worthless. They have tons of use and can boost your survivability quite a lot, at the cost of some DPS. Bretonnian S&S specifically is a really good all-rounder, capable of blocking gunners and fire rats of course, but the push > bash combo can open up almost any enemy in the game, and has great crowd control. And Bretonnian S&S also has some really good kill combos, like double overhead, double stab, etc.
Main advantage of the Bretonnian Shield ist that you can do a Block Push + High Damage Shield slam by using a light attack right after with lightning speed. Huge Stagger and solid damage particularly against hordes. No other shield in the game can do that and it's VERY effective.
That and having more single target oriented attacks makes it a good allrounder.

Also it's the best looking shield in the game.

How do you get the sword and mace ? I opened at least a hundred chests since I got this class and nothing. Also, no red items for the past 200 hours...
They really need to rethink the looting system.
