Tier I:
Back Off, Ugly! > Stagger based melees
Bloody Unstoppable! > Cleave based melees
Templar's Rally > If you think you're helping by shoving healing down your gob.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tier II:
Staggering Force > Boosts stagger potential for certain weapons and can be a breaking point of staggering an enemy you normally wouldn't be able to.
Have at Thee!> Requires elites to proc for 15% power. Useful on higher difficulties when elites are more the common. Easy increase to power.
Crowd Clearer > 15% attack speed on pushing an enemy can be any enemy as long as the push connects to a body. You don't have to stagger the bloody Rat Ogre to proc it just a push. Generally the safest pick.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tier III:
Bulwark > Generally good for team play as you make enemies take more dmg when you stagger
Mainstay > Overall good I'd suggest you look up a guide for the best choice for your melee weapon
Enhanced Power > Good for overall buffs for possible breaking points.
For this tier I'd just read a guide so I don't have to make this long.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tier IV:
Rock of the Reikland > Extra block cost reduction for everyone helps on higher difficulties especially with lower block based weapons.
Defensive Formation > An additional 5% to your 15% dmg reduction. Making it a 20% damage resistance along No Guts, No Glory puts it up to 30% dmg reduction. Helps fellow tanks massively every little bit helps.
Taal's Champion > Focuses power gains, but gives up your utility to the team for you to have dmg.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tier V:
It's Hero Time > Relies too much on allies going down can save them if your Valiant Charge is on C/D even then it's not a guarantee. Wasted potential.
Counter-Punch > Fantastic to allow frequent pushes on successfully blocking for a second. Best choice if you like pushing.
That's Bloody Teamwork! > Additional DR that relies on you being up your allies' behinds. Not that it is a bad thing but if the team wipes or is separated to go out of this very close range you must fall under. This skill is done.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tier VI:
Numb to Pain: Use charge just tank the world getting several free hits in for a short period.
Trample: 20% increased dmg to hit enemies that were hit by Valiant Charge. This doesn't stack with similar effects like WHC's tag bonus, Huntsman's "Make em' Bleed",Bounty Hunter's "Open Wounds" and "Off Balance". It does stack with Shrapnel however. It lasting 15 seconds doesn't beat nothing the other contenders.
Bull of Ostland: Turn terrible slow weapon into faster swinging beast. Stack this with the trait "Swift Slaying" and "Crowd Clearer" in Tier II. That's a 65% increased attack speed leaving out property rolls.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Overall, I personally run Back off Ugly! since Footknight has one of the strongest stagger potentials in the game. Crowd Clearer to just get a general attack speed bonus without relying on elites. Mainstay/Bulkwark, Defensive Formation, Counter-Punch, and Bull of Ostland!. That way I have frequent attack speed buffs so it's a decent mix of offense and defense.

If you're running Executioners Sword:
Bloody Unstoppable
Have at Thee
Mainstay
Taal's Champion/Defensive Formation (if you wish to remain with the aura buff)
Counter-Punch (pushing enemies and getting out alive is important folks)
Bull of Ostland (that atk speed + Swift Slaying is easier to keep track of. Have at Thee is just better vs elites making your killing vs them even more effective.)

2, 3, 2, 2, 3, 2.

Trade Blunderbuss for repeater. X-sword and ult already gives you great crowd control. Repeater has better range, more ammo and is superior for sniping most specials (except gutter runners). Repeater is better versus bosses and if you run into a stormvermin patrol you can just blast away instead of relying on your relatively slow X-sword heavy attack.
