"New" host migration mechanism
What is the point in this needless horsecrap "new" host migration mechanism which: a) just gathers the remaining players in the keep in case the host has left, b) players don't even have the option to decline this forced transition to other players' keep and c) may have caused severe increase in general ping and disconnections. If anyone has any clue I would welcome an illuminatory reply.

The host migration has always sent you back to the keep or to the start of the level if the host disconnects or leaves, 100% progress lost. Has this changed?
They tweaked this already pointless feature. Now host migration sends you automatically to a new host's keep with the rest of the party without the option to refuse and with often long loadings as new host may change again. Furthermore this tweak most possibly has caused heavier load on connectivity and general ping especially on clients' side.

I wouldn't be surprised if the useless host migration kills pvp (if that gets released) and it will probably be in Darktide as well.

You heretic! Take this back! I hope with all my faith to the God Emperor that this idiocy won't pass over to the highly anticipated Darktide. Jokes aside i only hope FS will learn from their previous mistakes and release a flawless gem (yeah sure...).

The writing could very well be on the wall for Darktide's issues because FS is sticking with the same game engine (probably the same code base etc.), so it stands to reason long standing issues like this will be carried over to the next game. I was hoping they would move to Unreal for Darktide so I could be excited for better performance, networking and built in crossplay but now it is a case of seeing how it pans out. We could get a lot of improvements but it is better to assume the worst, "hope is the first step on the road to disappointment".

I couldn't agree more brother. But as a mere mortal i cannot but hope FS will do better this time with whatsoever means/tools they possess.

Ps. If only we could get a masterpiece like Dawn of War rts (I conspicuously disregard DoW3). FS should know by now that "knowledge is power. They should guard it well".

I think the same & they nead a fix to Accept or decline after host disconected or leaving.
Yuo ended run & you load to host keep 4 people... he leaves without the say & you get swaloowed in a loop of joining thing.

Fathsark pls REPAIR this as it's a thing that should be considered a BUG by your fault.

This preposterous completely irritating issue should have been already addressed cause it is almost gamebreaking for me...

It used to be way way worse, it would throw you back to the same map loading screen while everybody else leaves.

Back in the days it would load you back at the start of the same map with the bots. Right now you will load in a random's keep with the remaining group without the option to refuse. And this is the best scenario. Quite often you end up in an infinite loading due to consequent leaving hosts before you end up alt+f4 or after a long long loading in your own keep. At the same time ping and connection stability is worse than ever. How's that better than before?

You are replying in a thread where almost all have ping issues and complete opposition with current "host migration". I think you should pay attention pal. Also there is a whole thread posted from Julia for many users having connectivity and ping problems since new update released. This possibility is also acknowledged by devs. I hope your "Ma game runs smooth. Everything is great" logic serves you right.

stop trying to get voters support, i replied to your "hows that better than" with an accurate description of why.
watching the loading briefing was way worse than just having a quick loading into someone else's keep, even if they all leave one by one after, it still faster than watching a whole loading briefing and map intro before being able to leave.

Well if it is better for you cudos. Personally i definitely had faster loading into the map and then exit to my keep or retrying the map as host. Also as i have already underlined my major concern is connectivity issues since i am POSITIVE that it is not on my side. Anyway what's the point in discussing with you? Are you gonna fix it? It seems everything is fine for you. Imagine knowing what a real host migration mechanism is...
