For guaranteed emperors, you can try lord maps. Halescourge is the shortest lord map I think.
IMO hunger in the dark, into the nest and rightious stand are way easier on legend.
You will have runs that are easy, then you will have ones where your bots get completely wrecked at the chain event. You will likely still finish the run as a HM, zealot or slayer with them dead, but to have every book is extremely difficult.
Needs to be a map where bots don't lose all brain function as you complete an objective, even if it is longer. I still think against the grain is one of the more manageable maps to do this, because you know you wont ever get a boss post barn and can rush mindlessly as you hack things down.
Against the grain also allows you to make a lot more use out of playing something that isn't HM/zealot/slayer, by allowing ranged careers to handle distant elites and chunks of the horde before it ever gets close. CDR build with WS can do insane things.
