Enchanter's Lair Boss
is just entirely overtuned. Just thought I'd drop in here to complain.

Difficulty is fine, difficulty has its place in the game, but that boss is disproportionately difficult proportional to the challenge rating.

Ive fought the thing probably 20 times on QM legend (because I keep getting the damned map, because I cant beat it) and I cant beat it. Once he starts flying everything falls apart every time.

Maybe a particular character or comp is able to completely carry that boss fight, but 0 for 20 says to me that its too specific if thats the case, cause none of my QM comps can manage it.

My suggestion is that in his final phase either disable the adds, disable the damage rings, or at least tone down the waves of adds so that there are some noticeable gaps.

Honestly, it's not difficult
Waystalker is able to obliterate him 1 on 1, other heroes (for example, with shotguns) will also kick it in the ass with ease

Its not hard... with the right character builds in play.

Without the item boxes at the start of levels like we had in VT1 its unfair to have levels or bosses like this.

I've had more than one match where the random QP party just didnt have the damage output to deal with him, its doable with team without boss damage, but its a slow grind that is far more difficult than anything else in the game.

2 purple pots + huntsman ult doing all headshots is enough to end Nurgloth in his flying phase (Cataclysm).

Most random pubs that fail this boss fight never conserve their resources for his flying phase.

Save your bombs, pots and ults for this flying phase, and ONLY this phase.

Resist that urge to pull out your bomb for trash mob pls.

Go ham on him when he starts flying.

[Also, keep an eye on GK or elf, flying boss will try to kill the dps first]

convo is much harder

i feel like the time on the floor explosion thing is just a bit too short. if you don't have a dash or the ability to walk through enemies then if you are caught on the outside when it starts then there is no way to get out before it pops.

you see that floor glow and go "oh, ok i'll die then."

Gonna go with CrystalPhoenix on this. The main thing to keep in mind is to burst him down with EVERYTHING you got in the final phase. If you’re the one being targeted you have to hold block and stay in the center the best you can until someone staggers him and/or shifts aggro.

I find it to be the hardest map-end fight in the game. Also the most fun one. Its difficult, but not overtuned.

The problems are coming from the average legend player. They are clueless about gear, clueless about required playstyle and when things go south, they hold block for as long as they have stam then they die.

The most simple answer is also the most easy way. If you dont have aggro from the boss, kill the adds, so that the one with the aggro and your team has space, then damage the boss. If you have aggro dodge and block.
i've done it on GK or BH with purple pots. But it's the most difficult fight yeah. Skitetrgate is a breeze comapred to this.

Its the best boss battle in the game, requires dedication and some strategy to beat.

Its easy until he starts flying.
Save purple potion for damage ult characters at the floating part.
save grenades and ammo for the floating part
do not do anything if hes focusing on you while hes flying, just defend and dodge, let your team mates do the work (it is a coop game after all)
If you gonna shoot him, push enemies first, one shot at a time(unless you are invisible), don't be greedy.

Its easy to understand but hard to execute since aditional enemies gonna keep you under pressure, but don't panic, keep a calm awareness of everything around you, watch your step, manage your enemies, snipe the boss, repeat until its over.
I agree with the AOE damage being a bit dramatic. Either extend the time it takes for an explosion, or extent the time between addons spawning because having to deal with them as well as the boss and the rings is overkill during his third phase. Otherwise he’s a really fun boss when everyone is on the same page.

The fact that he has both an AoE attack that hits the outside ring of the arena and a powerful knockback that, if it connects, will always send you into the outside ring of the arena is just dumb design. He's a manageable fight if you understand how his mechanics work (a huge one is the fact that he cannot knock back people with shields equipped), but I just dislike the fight. There's far too much variance in how easy or hard he is based on what your party and loadouts are.

No ur undertuned, since they made legend easy it’s understandable tho blame FS

When this map was out I first was very often knocked into the outside explosive rings. Then I've figured you just have to parry-dodge in such directions he's knocking you in some sort of circle motion, not directly toward the walls of the arena. Shields are absolutely not mandatory although it's a good information they can't be knocked back, I didn't even know that. You should very rarely be hit by the explosive rings with that, and just manage your stamina until the boss switches his target.

Ofc a full rangers team will struggle af compared to melee focused groups with a few boss killers, but isn't that already present in the game ? Some maps are heavily boss focused, that one above the others. I don't take it as a bad design. You're either fine with dealing with whatever mission the game throws at you and be rewarded with an extra end score, or choose your map.

I like DDR fights -- they remind me of my time playing FFXIV :)
