Volume Too Low
Anyone else experience this? Normally I have to set volume to 50% for all other games - I primarily use headphones - yet for VII the volume (at max system and game settings) is already like 50% volume in other games.

EDIT: I'm referring to actual game sound, not Mic/Voice. Everything is at max (system sound & game sound) yet it's just too low.

Under audio options ingame, change Dynamic Range from High to Low.

I've tried all existing in-game options (including DRange). It's none of those - the volume is just, by default, lower than other games when it comes to all non-voice sounds.

Thats really weird, I have low sound too but only if I change the dynamic range to anything but low. So just to make sure, all-non voice sounds are quiet for the game? Hmm...do you have any audio software running? Like, realtek audio equalizers or whatever?

Nothing like that. Vermintide is the only game I have this issue with. As said, for anything and everything else, I typically have to reduce volume by at least 50% or it's deafening as a Headphone user. For this, it already sounds like it's at 50% despite being at max in the options. All system settings (volume control etc) are normal - equalizers disabled, volume (in & out) set to max.

I'd like to punch up the standard volume by about 20% at least - it's playable as it is, but way too soft for my taste.

we had to turn the music down

Indeed, I'm aware it was inverse for VI - in-game audio drowning out voice. For me it's the opposite, all in-game audio too soft (at maximum), voice is perfectly fine.

All I can think of that might be worth checking out is....from your taskbar, right-click your speaker icon and select playback devices. For the device you're using for speakers selected, click Configure and verify that the speakers shown match your setup (if you're using headphones it should just be stereo).

If that matches, for your default audio device, click the button labelled properties. Under the tab labelled Advanced, verify that the sound is set, at most, to 32bit, 48000 Hz (Studio Quality).

If they're not checked, try checking "Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device" along with "Give exclusive mode applications priority."

Then retest and see if its still doing it. If it is, then I'm out of ideas. :(

Appreciate the suggestion(s), but there's only so many times I can say it -- it's nothing to do with my system settings. All of the above are correct and have been the same for years - this is an issue 100% exclusive to Vermintide II.

I've dabbled with all in-game settings and checked, double checked, triple checked my system settings. Despite this, the in-game volume is at least 50% lower than any and all other software and games.

I have the same issue here, still dont know why. first monthe of vermintide with my RIG 500 was ok. and then the silence, i boost the output with +20 db but my friends speaking are far too loud.

I know this is old by now, but Im having issues too, In game volume are all on 100 and I dont have any issue in any other program or game, which also means that I wont/cant exactly just turn up the system volume, because I would literally S*** myself if someone where to ping me on Discord etc.

Did you ever get things working properly? I'm using headphones btw.

I fiddled around a bit and it seemed that changing in-game settings from Auto to Stereo might have helped things a bit. Not sure if placebo, and/or if it will last, but seems fine so far, so.. ^w^
wich sound card do you use? on-board , gpu-audio , external usb sound card or a pci-e sound card?
