Door is great. It's open and creates a wall for the team to calculate where all the mobs are at. Only problem I have at the door is special mobs spawn outside of that spot (most likely a glitch).
I feel like that's risky becasue the tank has to be up front. If the tank goes down, that makes it harder. I've tried that and failed a couple of times in Champion/Legend. It works great, though.
I also find it's a lot harder for globe rats to ruin it since you have more space to move around vs the corner.
1: Door
2: Ledge
3: Front Corner to the left of the Bell, possibly back corner left of the bell
Each have their advantages and disadvantages. Myself I like the Ledge/Corner more then the door but that's just an opinion ;)
Thats not a problem, thats an advantage. Specials spawning outside just sit there beeing useless and occupy a slot in the specials-queue.
Ledge is good until any special attacks you. And on champ+ you have to be additionally careful with FF. However, you can still go to the door anyways if things go wrong.
The free shots you get on climbing enemies seems to pale in comparison to the ability to knock Ratlings, Warpthrowers, Gas rats, and everything else that takes advantage of open-spaces/clumped up players out with ease. As well, either good teamwork, between tanks and damage dealers both melee and ranged, all the fodder can be cleaned out like they're nothing. I've also seen occasional buggy behavior from specials that make them seemingly terrified to actually come into the line of fire. Crazy to think, but hiding in the corner in this scenario seems much more preferable because of its advantages.
As well, to maintain your advantage on the Ledge, you have to stay on it. If a wave hops on and pushes your character off, then you're basically screwed. You will have to walk all the way back, whether there is resistance from the rats and rots or not, and try to make the awkward jump again without getting knocked off just to be put back into a mediocre position.
Plus, if a gas rat manages to get a throw off, the ledge is FUBAR just from 1 special. Stand there and take damage, get off and have to run all the way through rats and rots back, or stay in the Corner where if a gas rat throws, you move slightly away, pop the gas rat from the clear open space, and go back when it's clear.
Corner is better, in my humble opinion.
Edit: Also, consider where you'll be aiming on the Ledge. You'll be pointing down, focused on the rats trying to get up. This can hurt your situational awareness and leave you potentially open to specials popping up and hitting you while you're unawares. Using the Corner for the most part puts you on the same plane as the enemy, meaning the only thing preventing you from seeing something is a full-blown swarm that neither you nor your teammates can clear, which I've seen few and far between.
You don't have to worry about your flanks at al if you spread out and take care of your zone instead of running to kill trash like a moron.
Ranged can shoot over the benches and murder half the enemies before they reach you.
One Dwarf with a flamer can kill half the enemies that spawn on his own during the entire event because you only have roughly a 100 degree zone where they come from.
Seriously, being anywhere else in the room is just dumb in comparison.
