And adding guaranteed reds to cata would only make noobs migrate and hope to get carried.
better play cata then.
If they would include cata chest with a better chance of getting reds than on legend, not only would cata be eventually the new legend, which means way more unexperienced people will play cata, people would also freak out, because it would mean that a significant portion of progress is behind a paywall.
Right now I see about the same 20-40 people in cata matches, we get a legend player every now and then that wants to check it out, but in my experience few stick around. Upping the loot chances and not getting a peasant or merchant chest every single time would assist IMO.
To me the loot no longer matters at this point I have 200+ chest just sitting waiting to be opened, but for players that still need loot but don't feel as if legend is challenging enough I think this would help.
Thoughts?
Cata gives legend chests. So if players still need loot but think legend is too easy, they can go to cata. No reason to develope a new chest tier.
Again, cata was made for the challenge. It is not meant to be reachable by the majority of players.
Not sure if you are here to brag or to show that you are an illiterate. Maybe both.
Even if you do Cata without the books you still get a nice chest at the end and although the chance is lower you still get your reds every now and then.
Im talking about a chest type that is specific to cata, like the bogen chests were specific to that DLC. This game has a low player base as it is, alienating ppl because of loot will only further this until there aren't enough ppl. As for not everyone able to reach cata, everyone "should" be able to reach and play it.
For a $20 DLC the whole thing could use some more.
Any reward for cata would have the same problem as just a new chest tier.
The game always had a low playerbase, except for the obligatory spikes during release. The game is actually doing fine and will until the next successor releases. Much lik what happened to V1. Vermintide is a niche game, with a small and stable community, dont be naive to think that it will ever be anything else.
There is also no alienating going on, because the majority of people are playing below legend in the first place.
In regard to the DLC, you got a mode with increasing progression, a new enemy faction, 5 weapons, one new map and a new difficulty. In terms of content, the price is somewhat justified. The fact that part of the content isnt used at all doesnt really matter, its still content. I only bought the dlc for the weapons and i only bought it on sale.
