If you get used to dodging and swinging correctly with a melee, you can get a ton of temp health from hordes thanks to the temp health on kill talent whilst avoiding most damage to the point where you might only get hit once or twice in a horde (that is assuming you're not the only one killing enemies in a horde). The other thing to get used to is spamming the ability when you can since that damage buff is super nice!
Greatsword is super simple in the way that you spam left click in a horde whilst dodging left/right most of the time as well as block attack to hit heavier enemies in the head!
Weapon: axe and malchus
don't miss the elites
that's it
PERSONALLY, I use the holy fortitude talent (increases healing received) with either of the temp health skills (striking multiple enemies is better IMO however you can decide) and run either barksin or natural bond on necklace.
I use natural bond more since I just lower my HP on purpose at the start of the match and lawn mow the enemies for temp HP, you can also just chug the nearest healing item you find (since natural bond only gives temp HP form healing items), although your team might not be happy. Barksin is more less for times when I'm getting my rear end handed to me though and need a cushion.
I use flail and crossbow, flail is a good in between for multi striking and killing blow talents so I usually stick with that. His great sword is also great for striking multiple enemies, and his axe+falcon is great for the killing blows temp HP talent. Ranged I find either crossbow or brace of pistols does the job well, the others don't really fit the bill on this career IMO
Edit:Also I use flagellent's Zeal for level 30 talent since it's useful for constantly having his ult up compared to the other two. For the invincibility talent is too short to reliably save teammates/yourself with IMO and same goes for faith's furry
Zealot is my 2nd most played career and typically I don't have too hard of a time with him, so this is just what I use in my own personal experience/opinion.
Use FAx + on kill if you're getting more than 2x-3x the elite kills than anyone on your team, if you're not getting 2-3x more elite kills than the rest of your team then you're playing to passively and won't be able to sustain thp so just use build 1
If you than take the temp health on enemy hit talent and a 2h sword you will be swimming in temp health.
2h is only bad at monsters and against armor, but with push attacks and the +30% power from being low live this can be compensated. The attack speed buff of your ability helps with the slow speed of this weapon too.
And with this one lv 30 talent you can spam your ability as soon as it ends during hordes.
Funny thing about 2h sword is that the heavy attack cleaves even through chaos warriors so it's a really save weapon to use in all situations.
Honestly i think this build is almost braindead easy to use and extemly good for almost no risk
