Kruber the Imperial fake-Grail Knight
I'm just wondering if there's a reason why they made a Grail Knight class for Kruber instead of making it a new character?

Not only is it lore-breaking to the extreme, but it would have been nice to have a new character with an option for Hermit Knight and Grail Guardian classes too.

It comes across as being completely ignorant to Warhammer's lore, not to mention that it's a "Premium" class.

So you're absolutely fine with a die-hard wood elf defecting to be a shade in the service of the witch king or hand maiden of the everqueen? But not this?

Yes, because it can actually happen and has happened in the lore. Malekith became the Phoenix King during the End Times, even his bodyguard was made up of former Wood Elves and High Elves.

Meanwhile, it's explicitly stated that only Bretonnians can become Grail Knights.

an empire peasant pretending to be a grail-knight is going to be so cringe, and if they're doing this to avoid making a true bretonnian hero in the series then that is quite disappointing
What if kruber is of bretonnian descendance ? Because you actually don't really know his whole family tree do you ?
Come on, let Kruber do some LARPing. That and Bugman's brew are all that keeps him sane in the end times.

Then he isn't a Bretonnian. That's like saying that because my great granddad was English, I'm English. Never even been there lol.

Yeah. I'm not understanding the design approach at all.

People keep saying it would cost money? People keep saying it would take a lot of work. Of course it would... That's how you build a game!

I believe people are trying to communicate. That since this is a dlc character the cost of the dlc would go up in conjunction with the amount of money the devs would need to spend to hire all the voice actors. Creating the model and balancing the game around a completely new character. Especially in these trying times it's most likely hard. To actually get the voice actors to different locations to use professional recording software.

Due to this people might get mad and not buy the dlc.

Crap like that

Here is the explanation. https://youtu.be/WKFOESd-_Q8

Mainly its because the HUGE voice acting recording and implementation would need to add another character in game.

This is the toy they are offering you, buy it or not, but dont be a picky jerk because its doesnt come in the color you want.

You've not read any of the other pages, have you?
Honestly, I'm a fan of having the Grail Knight.. as a seperate character also. This is vermintide 2 and I played the first.. They had the right idea with subclasses! That keeps the game from getting too stale playing the same mission over and over and.. you get the point. What they should do is add a new DLC that brings in a whole new character with 3 separate classes.. OR a whole new subclass for each character. Honestly vermintide is bar-none the best warhammer world simulator I've come across. The only thing that kills me is that the content gets so repetitive and stale quickly because of the lack of missions and characters. Sure, 15 careers sounds great on paper.. but in all actuality if you're like me and many others, they have a certain set of ideas they have for playing a character in a videogame. Personally, I don't like playing kerillian.. She seems so stale and cringy but more than that, I like a more up front and personal approach. Having read many WF books, I love the idea of Markus, Sienna, but especially Saltzpyre and Bardin. I love the dwarf lore and of course Gotrek. I love witch hunters they are so bada$$. GW really struck gold with their witch hunter concept. My suggestion is to add more characters. A Grail Knight on a never-ending quest for ze lady! A Kislevite hussar focused on a more northern/slavic style weaponry and fighting.. not quite norsca and of course you can't have mounts as a hussar but maybe a Cult of Ulric witch hunter or priest? A warrior priest of sigmar? A dwarven engineer subclass focusing on traps and gadgets? What about a male High Elven Dragon Prince? Focusing on fire magic and spears or lances like in Monster hunter world? There are so many ways to branch out and truly enhance the game with variety but they just add.. one subclass? Total War: Warhammer 2 has tons of different factions and playstyles and cultures.. take notes from that?
The U5 are seemingly favored by the gods and their skills alone get them to where they are. I see their career alternate paths in life to come from their inner strength to move on. They have reached the point to where they can achieve just about anything after the events of Ubersreik. We do not have the precise reason why Kruber is a Grail Knight, but all that matters is that he is one from his achievements. These characters are exceptions from the normal Warhammer Fantasy lore. Take Saltzspyre a member of the Silver Hammer that acknowledges that the Skaven are real and isn't a out right ♥♥♥♥ that kills the innocent for his egotism. If you take the Ubersreik 5 out of the game and directly into the lore they are not going to match up entirely as you wish. The same could be said about many other movie and game iterations of characters there are missing bits of information and exceptions made to captivate an audience rather than be 100% gate lorekeeper friendly.

In Kruber's case he could've been noticed by Lileath herself or have noticed Kruber's triumphs. I mean Kruber is what? Around a 43 year old Empire Soldier with plenty of military experience, but he's able to keep up with a Witch Hunter Captain, Waywatcher (Waystalker), A Dwarf Ranger/Ironbreaker/Slayer, and a Wizard of the Lore of Fire. Kruber truly has to be worth something to tag along with these guys. Even we see Saltzspyre respect Kruber's combat prowess in game. Kruber is a Grail Knight, but he wont always be entirely the pure thing. How I view the alteration in career paths as say Kruber can possess the abilities similar to them but not the entirety of what a Grail Knight would have merely a fraction of it but holding potential to improve. By skill alone they have to work much harder than what is inherently there for a Brentonian Grail Knight.

Remember the Ubersreik Five are the exceptions to the lore and to not take everything to be 100% to the lore completely. Simply put I think Vermintide is a great exposure for the Warhammer Fantasy universe as this game can be a person's first exposure to the Lore of Warhammer Fantasy with a grain of salt to peak interest.
It will be very awesome and fun to play!
