[Legende] Greatsword is really good... on Saltzpyre, Bounty Hunter(+ the build I use it with).
I really do enjoy my time with that weapone. Sure it has low boss damage and is below average against armor but paired with the repeater pistol it is really fun.
It also has really good range what allows you to run away and attack without being attack. With the "Parry" trait you can just suck up hits for free when you push the horde, making it nearly impossible for it to get you.

I dont say its the best weapone but a fun one, like its 6/10 for me. Works good against hordes, has "save the run" potencial and you have high surviability with it BUT it is bad when too many armored targets are inside the horde. It does a decent job against stormvermin, 3 charged attacks to the head and its a gonner.

Should you use it over any other weapone?
If you dont go with a repeater pistol build(below this) I wouldnt reccomend using it(and if you use the repeater crossbow dont use it at all) but if you want a change of paste, go for it.

The repeater pistol build:
Tallents:
L5 = Any is fine| L10= the left one| L15= the right one| L20= the right one| L25= any is fine but preferable the right one| L30= the... middle one[ha gotem]
Trinket= anything you like
Charm= Power vs Chaos+Armored | Trait= any you like
Necklace= healt+Black/push angle | Trait= Boon of Shallya
Repeater pistol= Power vs Chaos/armored | Trait= Hunter
Greatsword= Power vs Skaven or Chaos(whatever you prefer) + Attackspeed | Trait= Parry

The repeater pistol should do with the normal shot(on crit) 61,75 damage and 25,75x8 with shotgun-mode(on crit) on armored targets(tested on dummys).
82,50 damage with the normal shot(on crit) and 72x8 with shotgun-mode(on crit) on unarmoed targets(tested on dummys)
Why I dont say anything about the non-crit versions? Since you should really never use your ammo when you dont have your "Blessed Shot" ready.
In case you need it, it takes around 3-5 shots(normal and not crit) for any stormvermin/special that is in mid-range(you can try sniping on far ranges... but just use your ult and aim for the head).
"Why hunter and not Scrounger?"
Because the 25% power boost gets applied the second you hit something(and your first shot gets the damage boost!)
So basicly, you always make 25% more damage if you shoot(same for the L10 Tallent, so you get a boost of 45% on whatever you shot).

Hope you all had fun reading and now also want to test this out, wish you all a good day and slay those ratties!

"Really good" and "6/10 on Legend" seems contradictory.

sadly repeater serves no purpose above legend since it cant 1shot CWs anymore

OP pretty much explained it's fun to use many times and that it isn't the best weapon but one he enjoys using, with it's pros and cons. It only sounds contradictory because you singled out 2 sentences and pretty much ignored everything else he wrote.
Ehhhh, Bounty Hunter? I’m content with it on Zealot buuuut...BH I find is great with Rapier.

It probably works but its far from optimal or good.
The biggest issue (ignoring bh who doesnt have anything making the sword good anyway) is that the enemy masses arent there outside of special modifiers like twins. This makes all the cleave which is the 2h swords only argument irrelevant. Sure you can combat its ♥♥♥♥♥♥ elite damage with your ranged weapon but you still dont get alot of value out of the 2h sword as there arent enough enemies around to make it worth using. You just gimp your killspeed and mobility by choosing the greatsword.
For a standard repeater pistol build you would use rapier/axe n falchion/billhook. Those 3 weapons all have their spot. And they also work much better with bh lvl 5 talents. 2h sword would usually want to take thp on cleave. Thats not an option. The thp on crit/headshot is okish but definetly not great. Any of the 3 above mentioned weapons is much better with thp on crit/hs than 2h sword.

And youre not making a good argument for the 2h sword anyway. The only thing you say about 2h sword is that you can block with parry. But thats not a unique thing for 2h sword. You could take parry on any other weapon and block just as well.

The enemy masses are there every horde and ambushes.

I did some solo cata with greatsword a little while ago. I can agree, it's actually very good. At least on Mercenary, I didn't try it for everyone.

Haven't used the greatsword for a while, bit too slow and risky with the cleaves with em. I use the handaxe for bounty hunter and brace pistols for bounty and sometimes repeater.

I've used a max crit damage repeater pistol build on cata, and I can confirm that the greatsword is surprisingly the best option for melee, since it is the weapon that gains most out of the 25% damage increase.
