Getting kicked for cheating or flagged by anti cheat engine
Suddenly getting kicked from games for not passing the anti cheat engine. Nothing has changed in my PC or home set up recently but I can't join a single game or get kicked as soon as the level starts.

Some info:

Win7 with up to date patches / OS and steam installed on separate drives
Run Pfsense firewall at home, does some DNS level adblocking
No active AV engine running and minimal agents and active tasks running
Only have base game and first DLC
Steam client up to date, game files verified multiple times

What gives? Hopefully goes without saying that I'm not cheating.

Install Malwarebits anti-malware and do a scan.
Disable your firewall and then try running the game

Don't disable your firewall. Check if there is a rule for Vermintide to be allowed. If not, add it.

Stop playing and don't risk it until you have had some kind of acknowledgement by a dev. Threads like these make me really sad because these kinds of systems have and do punish innocient people at random but because the percentage is low no one seems to care. Read and make note of every possible avenue first before risking another attempt.

Go to your folder for your game, locate the easyanticheat installer, use it to reinstall the system on your game and that usually fixes this issue.

Dead By Daylight and other games running this nonsense all have that same solution.

I risked getting banned talking about that on behalf of the huge and growing number of negative reviews.

One of the devs said, before the thread was deleted, that if you complain about anti-cheat then you must be a cheater. Very Saltzpyre. He said something about being helpdesk for vermintide 1 and lots of complaints of cheaters outweigh "innocent" people getting banned.-well, no belief in innocence there, but you get my meaning.

Easy Anti Cheat is a ♥♥♥♥ software. I always have to disable Aura Sync (which is just the LED Control for a well build good looking Pc). Aura Sync is from Asus and Supported by almost every LED Hardware but no no Easy Anti Cheat sais that must be a cheat for years now and they still arent able to fix it. So you really trust Easy Anti Cheat? A software which devs are too stupid to patch this well known problem? I would refund every ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Easy Anti Cheat game but sadly this pile of ♥♥♥♥ was in the humble bundle

This happened to me a few days ago after a patch download. I had to verify my files and it automatically downloaded the missing Vermintide 2 file for me. Since you already tried that, I would check if you have Easy Anti Cheat installed. It should run the moment you have the actual Vermintide 2 game running. If not, you will need to install it by simply locating the EasyAntiCheat_Setup.exe in your Vermintide 2 installer directory. See if that works.

But, as was recently commented in another thread by a FS rep, false positives never happen. You're clearly cheating.

If there is one thing that history shows its that cheaters almost always lie about their cheating when caught. And that's unfortunately for anyone who does get caught up in a false positive. But it's hard to blame people for their skepticism considering the clear pattern.

I'd fill out a report with Fatshark support. Give them as much info as you can. If nothing else, they should be able to tell you why you have been flagged.

People who are criminals often lie about being criminals. Therefore everyone who says they are not a criminal is guilty. Why have a jury at all? /s

Or taking it another direction: do you cheat? If you say no, you are lying by your own reasoning and ought to be banned. If you say yes, you ought to be banned.

40k is intended to be dystopian satire. A science fiction nightmare where demons are real and the space Nazis are more extreme than the real thing yet are the good guys. Stop treating that as a role-model or moral guide to follow.

Unfortunately given the dev's track record you can't believe them.

Also this problem is well known on DBD, you won't be able to join hosts and so on due to easy anticheat, yet as soon as you go into your folder and reinstall the dam thing, it works just fine.

There is also the bug where it will keep running even when you exit the game and wont let you boot the game back up until you end the anti cheat process so it can start again with the fresh boot of the game.

Both Vermintide 2 and DBD have these issues, same with any and all games running Easy Anti Cheat.

Plus the LED hardware false positive mentioned above.

I rarely have those two issues but occasionally after an update it happens.

Considering all the bull crap they fed us when making the Back to Uber dlc....believe them if you like but they are most likely blowing smoke out their asses.
Can confirm the aura sync issue a poster about mentioned. My new case has a fan unit that uses aura sync on my mobo and i just got rid of the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ thing because 2 of the games i play would not stop tagging the software as a virus for no damn reason. I bet you cant guess which antihack software it was.

Easyanticheat is a devs quick fix for not wanting to get a decent anti cheat, i still remember when rust swapped to EAC on experimental after legacy was being dropped, oh boy that was a nightmare

I realize the most deductive thing is to say "well you must be cheating" but why would I post here acting confused? I'd go to whatever cheating forum I got the hack/exploit/tool/whatever from and post "hey how do I get around their [whatever] system because I'm getting kicked now."

I wasn't banned for cheating so I'm not asking Fatshark for an unban and I'm more convinced this is some kind of technical issue as it popped up out of no where which is why I'm here treating it like such.

Some additional stuff:

I did wonder if malware is causing weirdness so updated MBAM and ran a scan. No detections.

I completely uninstalled the game and reinstalled and it worked for a few games but then got kicked again a bit later.

The kick occurs immediately on joining a hosted game, after the level loading dialogue. No warnings or messages when the game first starts and in the solo-lobby.

I'm not turning off my firewall and I've had it set up like it is since before I bought the game. It's also my DHCP so if I turn the entire thing off I won't get very far.

I found the EasyAntiCheat installer which I ran and offers some kind of repair service which it said it did successfully. I've been able to play a few games successfully both before repairing and then after so not sure if it's actually fixed. When I watch task manager when I launch the game I don't see an EasyAntiCheat.exe or anything pop up so not sure what it's supposed to be doing.

It's not consistent. I'll be able to play fine a few times then get the kick with the notification several times in a row. Since repairing it's been ok but it also worked before repairing.

IIRC it started popping up around the time of the most recent DLC release so I'm wondering if trying to join a game with people running the DLC causes this? I obviously have no way of checking.

As i mentioned since its working after doing the installer, it just means the update broke it for you. Happens to folks with that crap system.

You will be fine...til possibly the next hotfix/update.

in my case it does not happen at the start, usually alter 5 to six minutes i get info about a not trusted file and then kick. Strange thing is, after i do a file check in steam it finds one boken file that it dowloads. But in the next game the same thing happens.

Why would you cheat in a coop game and who the hell cares.
I'm not cheating.
there's no way that anyone can prove or disprove that on a thread.
I just wanna play the stupid video game a paid for....
or I want my money back.
