What weapon?
Crawling Chaos Feb 19, 2019 @ 6:05pm
Actually it DOES break through enemy armor. Using heavy attack you can kill chaos warrior with, for example, dual daggers or a fork.

Break through armor, more damage.
Only hold the heavy button if you need to lead it.
Doing a quick-heavy (Releasing the heavy attack button when the animation starts instead of waiting) does the same damage as a fully charged heavy.
Certain careers have an ability that make stamina regen 40% faster for a few seconds after a heavy attack.
Depends on the weapon. Some weapons do more damage vs. armor using regular attacks, but most do extra damage with heavy attacks. Off the top of my head, Bardin's 2H axe does more damage to armor using regular attacks, with the heavy attacks doing less damage but having more sweep and cleave.

It's the correct way to use a rapier.

Except on rapier and pickaxe. Those have two charge levels.

ok all. 1. this is not a troll post im serious (help a noob out hey?) 2. im glad to hear it does increase damage, guess i didnt see it and the information ive found must be out of date, but im finding i dont get through armour better. is it just that the weapons act differently and im using the wrong one?

Which weapon in this case you're talking about?
Googalabon Feb 19, 2019 @ 8:08pm
They do act differently, for instance charge attacks with a two-handed hammer will still hurt armor but not as much as the light attacks. The charge attacks with a two-handed hammer will give you much better cleave on a horde.

let us know what weapons are using and we could describe how to use them better than you are

typically play bardin with a shield and hammer/axe but i occasionally use dual axes on slayer and two handed axe on ranger. thanks for understanding.

Dual axes - charged attacks deal more damage to armor, especially because one attack uses both axes meaning that the damage is like double. Light attacks are worse against armor for sure. Also you can combine charged attacks with push attack (which is really fast and still uses both axes) to kill armored targets faster.

Two handed axe provides solid damage against armored targets with heavy attacks while also staggering enemies - works exeptionally well against Chaos warriors. Against single enemies it's faster to land light attacks on the head tho. Also to mention - 2h axe charged attack stuns packmasters.

Cannot tell much about shield weapons, but i believe, it's charged attack is made for crowd control against hordes and the only good attack against armored enemies is it's push attack.

thanks

Every charge attack pierces armor, only the first charge attack of shield weapons dont, when you hit the enemy with the shield, it just staggers. But the other two charged attacks after the shieldbash are armor piercing again.

You can also use your weapons against the armored dummies in the keep to look what weapon does damage against armored.
