Stuck at 99%. Content Locked.
I've been excited to play this game and managed to reach the end of the download only to be welcomed by an error saying that a certain file is locked. I searched online and found some threads suggesting i delete that certain file from the folder path shown on the error and then verifying Cache files.

To my surprise the file "bundle" under Steam->Common->Warhammer: Vermintide 2 is completely empty. Thankfully i found the file in the downloading folder in steam. So i delete it and then verify game files. Guess what. Not only it didn't get fixed but my download started from the very beginning.

0% !!!!

What do i do now? Will the game play this time or will i meet the same error when i reach the 99% mark again? And if i do how do i fix this error? Thought these things ceased to exist from the 2000's days. This kinda ruined my night as you can tell... Hope this doesn't reflect on the game's quality as i got really excited.

Thanks in advance,
Taskmaster

its not the game this just happens with steam occationally. I get it every now and then and my internet sucks so it takes me ages to redownload. It will probably work fine the 2nd time you download
Sometimes it means your hard drive is full. Usually it's a Steam error.

Normally, when I get that content locked error. I managed to prevent the error from happening again by restarting my computer.

Thanks for the replies. I tried all of the above to no avail. Re downloaded the game and it pops the same window with the same exact file being locked on a folder that is still EMPTY. Found the file again in the downloading folder on steam but i know if i delete it the game will reset.

Closed my firewall aswell. Restarted the PC. Nothing. I'm redownloading for a 3rd time now. Does anyone have any other idea that might work.

And i don't believe this is a Steam problem as the file "corrupted" or "locked" is a file downloaded from the developper. I have downloaded countless games from Steam and had myriads of problems, but nothing like this. Some help would be really appreciated. This is much harder than it should be.

Thank you,
Taskmaster

Same happened to a good friend of mine; he also is not able to start the game properly for 2 weeks. The strange thing is, he was already in my lobby after not having played for weeks.

He suddenly got disconnected and since then cannot start the game again, even after several de- and reinstallations. He also tried different things (firewall, repairing files via steam, using another) without reaching anything.

VT2 is the only game in his steam library which doesn´t work.

He also had the message, that one file is corrupt or locked. Any help would be great.

Hope there will be a solution for that problem soon.

Found a FIX for this. Boot you Windows into Safe Mode with Networking and continue the download. Now it should complete the download. Then reboot normally.

Unfortunately there are even more problems appearing after this with the EasyAntiCheat program that won't let you play the game.

If you installed the game in Safe Mode w/Network you might need to repair/install EasyAntiCheat from the 'installer' folder where the game is located on your storage device.

I have done that but unfortunately i didn't see any difference. The game works fine for about an hour until it suddenly kicks me to desktop. Opening it up again gives me the 30005 error. Rebooting my PC, then opening the game works again. Until about one hour later where the same thing appears.

Are you running any anti-virus? Sounds like it could be causing EAC files to be quarantined on the sneak or something.

I closed everything just to check it out. Both my antivirus and Windows Firewall but still get kicked around 30-45 min in the game. I have opened a ticket with EasyAntiCheat too now with extensive details. Hope i can find a solution to this.

Re-installing at the moment though and trying again.
