Is there a 3rd person view option?
I dont understand the point of any 40K or Warhammer Universe game if we cannot see our amazing looking character model. Melee combat in 3rd person is so much more enjoyable IMO because you can see your character, wearing their awesome looking outfits, doing his or her thing!

Only mod on modded realm

So many people don't understand this, it is so sad.

The game is balanced for a first person view. With a third person view you would be able to see enemies behind you, look around corners, etc: it would break the balance of the game, making it much easier.

I've played several 3rd person games where the camera is very close and you cannot see enemies behind you. Only to your immediate front and periphery as you would IRL. So it's possible to make a 3rd person game where you can see your glorious hero or heroine in action without a "god mode" type view.

But we're getting off topic. So no third person except for some mod on a modded server. Thank you for the reply and good gaming out there to everyone.

blurf

I only don't like it as much because it takes less skill. It's much easier to remain focused on exactly what's in front of you when in 3rd person. It's exactly why in Chivalry, I generally only used it when I had to tryhard against other tryhards who would try to 720noscope axeshot you in the ♥♥♥♥ while jumping backwards.

Also you can 'hear' enemies behind you. There's a loud audio sound when enemies out of your sight are winding up a hit.

-Vermintide: "i am a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ amazing first person melee game that's completely unique and has not been done so well ever before in terms of its fps melee mechanics. there are other melee fps games, but not one of them is so well made"
-random dude: "yeah can you be in third person? i want to look at my character and not be them. id rather watch a movie and not play a game. thx"

No, and rightfully so.

I don't understand the snarky remarks, first person view only was 1980s, this is 2019 where 3rd person is extremely common. This game doesn't have it unless it is modded is all that needs to be said without all the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ remarks, and snide put downs. This type of ♥♥♥♥ is why communities get bad reputations for being toxic.

I love the 1st person view and feel it is an essential element of game play. However, before I bought V2 I watched a few streams on twitch and the game looked like a chaotic mess. Now I have played the game I can interpret what is going on in the streams. While I think game play should always be 1st person, I believe that you should be able to stream a 3rd person perspective so that the uninitiated viewers can better understand what is going on. This mode is already in the game.If you are "incapacitated" you get to spectate other members of your team in 3rd person.

I bought V2 after watching some EpicNameBro streams (I'm a big Dark Souls fan), but he abandoned V2 because of the low viewer counts. I can only assume that the first person perspective is the reason why people didn't watch the streams because the combat mechanics and graphics of V2 are as good as any of the Souls-Borne games, and the randomized enemies add an additional element of novelty to any play through.

And sometimes there isnt even anything and then you live the rest of the game with the fear ,,what wanted to hit me and where did it go?"
Love it when it happends.

This is incorrect. If you check the time stamp you would see this. That said, I didn't check the time stamp on the original post myself before responding. If I had realised it was a necroed thread, I wouldn't have posted, so apologies for that, but please get your facts right, Pungent.
