Offline Mode (for Xbox One)
I briefly opened up today's stream when I saw the link in the newsletter, and I didn't watch much (my internet is terrible), but it sounded like they said that you can actually play in an offline mode with the Xbox One version.

If needing an internet connection to communicate with Fatshark's item servers is the reason why we don't have an offline mode on PC, how is that any different for Xbone? I'm a bit confused as to how their equipment distribution will work in an offline mode, or why we can't get an offline mode as well.

Either you misunderstood something or you can play without getting anything. If saves are stored locally it would take 5 minutes to start manipulating character files, so I highly doubt a true offline mode is abailable.

Yeah, that's why I'm so confused. It is possible I heard wrong (or they consider playing with bots to be "offline"), but if not then it's very curious indeed.

Yes they might mean offline as in private.

If I remember correctly when I jumped into one of those past streams, I think theyve said you can play offline but you dont get loot and progression when doinng so. You can only use what youve got when playing online and called it "1-way-progression".
Cant remember though what theyve argued to be the benefit behind that.

So basically offline works as modded realm.

Okay so yeah, like you guys said, it does seem like progress is handled differently with offline mode. They start to talk about it at almost 11 minutes in.

You can even--and that's something we added for the Xbox version, which has not been around in the previous game or in the PC--we have an offline mode as well, so you can play even without any type of internet connection.
And progress from online to offline will transfer, but not the other way around.

So it would seem. Though, as an aside, a couple minutes later you can see the ammo counter on the HUD while the melee weapon is drawn, so they have that small thing on us until we get sanctioned mods.

Well the console version has been made far easier (stated by devs) so they have probably added plenty of stuff like that.
