Understanding the Pyromancer's Burning Head
I have seen the burning head do some pretty weird things. I've also seen it save me from a hit or two from an enemy about to hit me from behind. It seems to have a mind of its own, doing what it wants, when it wants or just giving up after just one hit on a ratman. Does it have durability? Does it have a mind? A name? No one knows...I've seen the following happen with the burning head...

1. It hits one puny ratman, and then flies off into the sky never to be heard from again.

2. It stalks its prey, slowly...waiting for the kill...almost glitching out, ricocheting back n forth off invisible walls...then finally striking the enemy, killing it and continuing on its way to another foe.

3. It gets obsorbed into a wall or structure, leaving its symbol of fire behind.

4. It shoots forward, directly at the foe you targetted, somehow misses him and then ricochets back to you going through you and hitting several enemies that had secretly surrounded you and were about to kill you. Instead the burning head saves your life as if it owed you its life.

5. Attempting to unleash the burning head but instead it gets stuck...as if it not yet ready to depart from your body. It takes bashing the "F" key to force it on its way.

6. Unleashing the burning head, and right afterwards you are caught by a disabler...the burning head hears your cry and dashes back to disembowel the foe, saving your life.

7. You hear a sorcerer chanting in the distance but no one can find it. You unleash your burning head to seek out this foe. Moments later, you hear the "click" of the burning head taking out a foe and the chanting stops. Mission accomplished.

8. You summon the burning head but it knows know difference from friend or foe. It dashes through your allies body, burning his innards, killing him in order to reach the hook rat that is dragging him off, killing the the hook rat.

Would anyone else like to share their experience with the burning head?

It does have a mind of it's own, a targeting system, a bad hitbox, and ranald's finger.

By targeting, I'd say it has priorities. Going with your red outlined target -> Disablers currently disabling -> closest enemy in some arbitrary half circle infront of it

It also has a small hitbox for it's speed. This is why you see 2. happen, if it gets perfectly spaced so that per frame, it moves further than it's hitbox is large and passes the target, it will double back and repeat over and over.

To me, it feels as if it has become progressively more random/broken in the last month and a half. As of now, you can highlight an enemy near a horde and after it hits the target (assuming it is a unit it will bounce off of), it is almost guaranteed to fly off into the sky rather than bounce to the very near enemies.

Never use to be this bad. Sometimes you can even have it travel for a good 20 yards and aim it almost directly at your target and it will decide to keep flying rather than home in on the target or anything near it. Has to be a bit bugged right now.
