Rat Ogres hitting through block is real dumb
Nothing is more annoying than having a sword and shield with 8+ full stamina shields, but still taking full damage on half of his attacks. Either tone back the absurd damage it deals, or reduce how frequently he uses attacks that invalidate block. It makes them such a chore to fight compared to all the other bosses.

All bosses have a slam attack that while it can be "blocked" will deal large damage through the block.

Or....Just dodge it? That's what you're supposed to do for the attacks designed to pierce through blocks that are on bosses.

Bosses have a pretty predictable attack pattern. About a second or so after he attacks, backdash. You'll dodge it every time without even the need for any quick reactions.

Also all 4 bosses have unblockable attacks. Its not rat ogre exclusive.

Oh I thought you were talking about that bug (THAT HAS STILL YET TO BE FIXED) where bosses can attack you through walls. Really nice when a fist just comes flying at you through a wall and insta downs you.

I really haven't seen them attack through walls much. Now floors, they attack through those all the time. I've seen a boss fall through the map and then just like pop up behind someone swinging like 20 times.

Shield weapons need a buff, their dodge and mobility is horrendous and their super strong block isn't that great versus killing stuff like crowds of elites with better weapons. Maybe their only purpose is to assist allies who suck at handling mobs alone? :knight:
Dodging works fine for every other boss - the rat ogre is the only one that has block-passing attacks so frequently, especially with them happening one right after another. I'm not saying there shouldn't be any block-breaking ability, I just think it's really annoying that the rat ogre in particular has way more than the others.
I always imagine blocking in reality would be hilarious vs any of the monsters.

~Swings huge beefy unarmoured hand to attack~
~holds up two handed sword facing blade edge towards enemy~
~punches sword and loses fingers~

Yeah he does tend to spam them more often, but to me it makes sense he's kind of just a berzerking brute like the spawn whereas the troll and fiend have a bit more technical aspect to their fights.
I've found with slayer bardin i can get a sweet spot where he wont move but i can dash forward and back and he just spam his slam attack over and over, it's awesome if the group is in a jam and needs the boss pulled.

Oh that happens to me too, the other day I got grabbed by a Chaos Spawn and I guess we both got transported into the Warp. What made things even more awesome was that after it killed me, it returned to the material world but this time it was invisible and killed the rest of my team. Chaos powers man.

you can literally lock him standing still doing pound attacks over and over just by walking forward and dodging back he is by far the easiest boss

^ this, rat ogre is by far the easiest to kite lock. Hell I even saw a bot do this with ease and didn't take any damage just moving up for one quick hit and dodging backwards.

Yeah he just keeps attacking the ground and punching air if you do this. Once you get into a good rhythm, it’s not too hard to keep him attacking air.

Ground slam for Ogre/Spawn cannot be blocked, dodge it.
Imagine if you COULD block it properly (or at least take very little damage from it)
People would just stand in front a boss, not move, ever, and have their team stab the beast.

Where is the gameplay in that?
