Hands down, Krubers Huntsman is the top tier ranged damage dealer. Get a strength pot with decanter, lasting 50% longer, and headshot bosses to take them down to half health in a matter of seconds. Longbow or rifle both work, personally i like longbow more but im not sure why.
Blunderbuss works but it doesnt shine like the other stuff does
Never take repeater on this guy, its nothing compaired to any other weapon.
Bardins Ranger is better at supporting. You get the awesome Dawi weapons, but he doesnt have the raw power that Huntsman does. Rifle is great for head shoting bosses and chaos warriors, crossbow is good for that but great for regular specials/elite as well. Plus pierce helps take down hordes at long range, or with enough hero power, even elites. Grudge raker is good paired with an AP melee, shotgun hordes to smitherines and chop away at everything else.
Plus his ammo passive is helpful to anyone min/maxing damage on other classes and may not have much ammo regen.
The bomb drop perk is a must have, its so helpful to have a full stack of bombs if ♥♥♥♥ hits the fan. especially on higher lvls.
Really cant go wrong with any weapon choice for him, just get a combo that compliments how you play
Kerillians Waystalker is more main range damage. Meaning she has enough ammo, especially with the short bow, to primairily use that instead of melee. She has a lvl 15 and 25 tallent to help her regenerate ammo, plus the orange perk on the bow to make crits restore 2 ammo.
All of this combines means you can stroll around and make everything else pin cushions. Only switching to melee when you want or need to.
Long Bow is more for elite and specials with the zoom to headshot them. Pierces well though so you can get multiple rats in one shot.
Shortbow more for shooting anything and everything, still good to headshot just doesnt have the zoom to do it easily at longer ranges. Also doesnt pierce as much.
Dont listen to haters of Hagbane, i use this on Handmaiden as a hybrid class. It is my personal favorite.
For Waystalker it would be used to handle hordes with the aoe, may have to melee a bit while the DoT ticks away, and increase boss damage as the posion is very nice for bosses.
Saltzpires Bountyhunter is great for burst damage. If you play him right you will not have to worry about ammo, and you can one shot hordes of elites.
After 10(8?) seconds, or a melee kill, his next range attack is an auto crit and consumes no ammo. To use this to maximum effect, take the repeater hand gun. Roll that bad boy up and enjoy 8 crits for free. Switch to melee, kill one rat, switch back and blamo again. Rinse and repete.
Auto crossbow can work with this as well, getting 3 free crits with its alt fire. This is worth it to me as it pierces and you can really wack hordes down, just cant roll as hardcore with the burst damage of the repeater handgun.
Siena is the only one i havent played enough in 2 to really say much about her.
She is mainly ranged damage. Different as she consumes no ammo, just fills herself with hate and explodes if you go to crazy.
You probably notice a theme however, she has multiple staves that fill some kind of roll. Either big damage or wide damage in the flavor of your choice.
Battle Wizard is not as good i hear. Her extra passive venting is nice, but it only works if you dont use the staff for a bit, which makes her a hybrid melee and ranged.
Pyromance is best for big damage, her ult is great to take down big groups of elites or specials that need to be dead 10 seconds ago.
- Huntsman is good for killing bosses
- Pyro for hordes and aggro of bosses
- Bounty hunter for everything
- Waystalker with barrage and ammo regent for everything
- Ranger for support
Ranged weapons can decimate a horde before it even reaches the melee line but it requires a team to position correctly in a good overwatch position with overlapping fields of fire, preferably over chokepoints. I just don't see this level of intelligence from most randoms though which is why I find it quite surprising without actually refuting it's viability because it is very viable.
Sadly this is true, i play pyromancer and i can shoot infinitely with my beam staff so here i am holding a giant horde or maybe 2 hordes from 1 side , they are unable to get to us from that 1 side, and than i get hit from behind because the 2 mele guys decided they want more kills so they rush yhe horde from my side (wich was not needed) so now i am overwhelmed from behind and since its champion you can only take so many hits , i just dong get people, 2 people are enough to defend one side , hell you can hold of entire hordes with sienna alone since she stuns them with the beam staff, and even if elitea show up you just use the ultimate and you are done, so yeah i think the score screen is to blame , instead ofpeople peotectibg eachother they just go where you can get the most kills....
you're just staying still there, stunlocking a horde, taking temp hp from teams mates, when your real job is SPECIAL HUNTING, you should be on the lookout for them and not let the melee guys do it. how many times i had to chase a special spawning as slayer it's beyond imagining.
if you want to manage a horde, choose a tank class or pick another staff..
beam staff players make me lose my ♥♥♥♥ seriously
Yeah Ive seen such “melee guys” like you ;) When playing with ya its not about looking for specials/elites, its about making everything aka carrying. You going down from horde, you complain why Wizard didn’t cover your ass (while running to controlled horde just for lulz) and of course bringing hell of complains if Sienna dare to hit you with friendly fire.
I saw horrible Sienna players for sure, but more often I saw Dwarf/Kruber horrible player, even if they are used tanky careers. In your case Ill say you are horrible dwarf player who loves to complain ;)
Pyros work is indeed horde control in first place. If you cover pyro well you won’t have any troubles in whole run. Specials/elites killing is her work too, but what you prefer - fighting with horde in close range and looking for special in chaos of fight, or let pyro control horde in range while 3 (!) of you looking around for specials?
idgaf about score screen. i play for fun. and it never happens when a beam pyro joins.
