Changing the fullscreen refresh rate?
I've noticed that when the game is running in exclusive fullscreen, the refresh rate is set to 60hz regardless if your monitor is higher than 60. Has anyone found/know of a fix?

I finally figured out how to turn off windows fullscreen optimization for this game (which is the problem for most new games refusing to utilize the highest refresh rate available). Go to steamlibrary/steamapps/common/Warhammer Vermintide 2
then if ur using DX11, go into "binaries" - right click vermintide2.exe and go to properties. under the compatibility tab - tick disable full screen optimisations. (do the same for the vermintide2.exe in binaries_dx12 if u're using DX12)
after that, go to "launcher" folder, and do the same for "launcher.exe" - tick disable fullscreen optimizations, but here make sure that "run as administrator" is UNTICKED, otherwise the game refuses to launch.

this method has worked for me in various newer games. I run my desktop refresh rate at 60hz as opposed to 144hz as I have 2 other 60hz monitors. somehow looking back and forth between a 60hz screen to another one on 144hz gives me nausea/headache. Glad i found this fix to force games to bypass window's stupid "fullscreen optimization" and use the monitors maximus refresh rate.

Running 1440p 144 hertz here, i dont have this issue. There is a setting in the nvidia control panel for refresh rate, did you set that to highest available ?

Yeah, everything is set to the correct refresh rate. https://puu.sh/zQorJ/0b906e8653.png

idk I notice very slight screen tearing while in exclusive fullscreen, and it is noticeably less smooth than borderless window (which shouldnt be the case if both settings are running at the same refresh rate).

Can you confirm that your refreshrate in the windows display properties are not set to 60hz?
If thats the case you would notice it in other games as well.

For some reason I do not see this setting: https://puu.sh/zQCHR/2657bc0255.mp4

I'm not sure why it would not appear, but just to clarify my monitor is connected to my pc via DisplayPort. Not sure why it claims its connected via VGA.

Look at the screencap in my first comment again.

If you're running Gsync and its set to run in both fullscreen and windowed mode. Try to set it to run only in Fullscreen mode and see if that helps.

Thanks! I haven't tried this yet, but im gonna mark it as answered since this will most likely fix the issue (I forgot that fullscreen optimization existed).

This doesn't seem to work now.
Sorry for necroing this post, but it's the only one I could find atm (not even one like this on reddit).

So, if anyone has a "new" fix or workaround, please help.
Thank you.
