Save Chest to Hero Power 200 or Item 200
I'm hearing a lot of people saying we should save our inicial chests because we can get better items depending on our Hero Power. It seems the chest can be upgradable to 300, this occur when we hit Hero Power 200, that's what I'm hearing around.

A Stream just told us we need to save those chests until Item Level 200, now I'm confuse... Should I wait to have Hero Power 200 or Item Level 200?

Item Level 200, because the level chest have a maximum of item level 300. So they can give 200+.

What it's important it's to open the chest when the chest hits 300 right?

The short answer is you don't need to actually save anything.

People are referring to Commendation chests which give items out up to lvl 300 item cap. Some people like to save those up until they are very near the item cap and open them all to minimize on grinding. Another reason is, when they are at a point of giving out Reds (from item power level 290+ I believe) you get to open a ton of boxes for a chance at the Red items.

However, a dev pointed out that by doing so you are slowing the overall leveling process by effectively nerfing yourself of items along the way. That and the fact that commendation chests continue to drop past level cap so you can still play for Reds.

So it's up to you and how you want your leveling experience to be. I personally open all mine when i get them and it's really helped push my character through the power climb.

I didn't open all of mine, but I did open about half the ones I got. Every odd level I would open that chest and save the even level one. You can always level up other heroes too for easy chests.

Just getting every character to level 10 will get you 45 chests, if they are all level 1 when you start.

That means players can have two choices:
Have a slow start hold on the chest.
Have a normal start by open the chest.

I've just re-read your post and it's worth me adding that any chest will only give you an item within -10 +10 power of your current items. So opening them when you get to item level 200+ will give you items that scale from there. Each chest you open may have an item slightly higher increasing with each chest that you open.

its not from your current item pool, the game remembers what the highest power item you ever had was and randomly adds + 10 / - 10 from it.

Correct. It's also worth noting that people have reported opening 100 saved commendation chests and not had a single Red due to how rare they are.

Yeah, that make sense.

What are the conditions of the item?
I saw there's white, green, blue and orange? I don't know the order of quality.

White -> Green -> Blue -> Orange -> Red
From common to rare

Regarding itemization, I made this earlier today. I do not claim I know what I'm talking about. I just wanted to make a thing.

I hope it helps new players.

Don't forget to come back here and brag about op classes that actually have gear equiped

Saving chests is just going to progress you through the game faster and give you less content to ultimately do.

Open your chests until you have gear you're satisfied with, then save them if you're so inclined.

People who are saving chests by the boat load are going to run out of ♥♥♥♥ to do and start whining about it.

As far as i know the only condition for a Red item are that you need to have a high enough item power that you can roll lvl 300 items. Reds are level 300 with fixed stats. It could be that you need to be max level as well, I don't know.

Holding your commendation chests seems to save you some time to reach 300 gear power, I do not believe the successful rate of a champion mission is the same as a recrue/veteran mission.

Also, I have yet to find a comment where someone actually found a red in a commendation chest, that would mean less waste of mission chests which can gives you reds.
