Why does everyone want to be sexy female characters?

I mean I see it every game and its overflowing in the "new character ideas" thread on this forum.

Don't get me wrong, I like playing every character for what they can do and the character design so I've played plenty of good-looking elves, humans etc that are female, but I don't get the obsession of wanting every character to be female and sexy. And then if that doesnt happen its known as the game being sexist..

And personally it's nicer for me to see some nice female characters in the group or as other characters in other multiplayer games than for ME to be them, because I've always imagined as the thing I'm controlling is more in tune with myself as opposed to an object I'm gawking at all the time. The main character is usually for admiring cool armor, equipment, etc, and not for drooling over. But again I''ve played some chick characters before but because of their character design not just because it's a "hot chick".

I honestly don't know where this has come from, but I decided I would ask now since 99% of the new character ideas and what I see people wanting is female + sexy, and then hoping on a recent MMO ive downloaded finding out 90% of the player characters are female.

I know what you mean, and that's what I thought, but I literally see many hearing they want to "play" as one, and in mmos you can see how many people are female..

people dont always wanna be "badass" and in many cases a capable female character can be just as if not more badass kicking enemy's asses than a badass male character.

I mean I brought this up on a discord server I'm part of and many guys agreed they usually play the female character or pick female option in rpgs always. I mean my curiosity of this is even greater seeing it in a game like this where you don't see your character most of the time..

Because it looks good lol.

Theres a reason why Kerry is almost in every game. She looks great. Appearance will always attract people first. Customizing and playing as someone that looks nice to oneself will always be more attractive than playing as someone you don't like the look of.

That is true, but I remember when I was customizing a character and my neice (my sister's young daughter) was helping me pick the clothes for my character in a game I used to play. I didn't think much at the time but if it attracts a young girl to want to change clothes for your character, why does it attract a grown man too? What is as bad ass about it? You realy prefer a nicely designed armor with boobs curves poking out or actually how armors used to look in medieval times?

I get the "women can be badass" thing, many badass female characters I like - but remember, im saying specifically a overwhelming amount of people wanting to play them and finding myself surrounded by mostly girl characters in a MMORPG.

Haha well that makes a lot of sense, but when I just think about it from a serious perspective its also odd if you know what I mean. Like, if this were true, does this mean guys would like the customizing of dress-up games that were made for younger girls? It's a weird line that makes sense as you explain but Im also like "but then if I like this wouldn't that mean I should have liked dressing cute girl toys instead of collecting comic hero figures" lol

it could also be that the sexy female use the weapons most people like, or perhaps she is the best fighter in game
