Killing a chaos warrior

So basically it seems they are immune to all ranged attacks except headshots and whenever I’m slashing with my firesword as sienna I still get the red shield indicating I’ve done no damage. What am I missing?

Against armored, you can either use charged attacks or aim for their heads.
Charged attacks for scratching their back.

Just a heads up, as Bounty Hunter I've always been able to one-shot the Chaos Warriors with my active skill (the one that pulls out a hidden pistol)

Melee weapons with inherent armor penetration - 1h axe, 2h axe, 2h hammer, etc. or charged melee attacks with everything else. For ranged - headshots with armor penetrating weapons.

Or use a strength potion and use anything and everything that you want for the duration.

1h axe eats through them and stormvermin like nothing. Imo, every group should have either someone with an armor penetration melee weapon or something to mitigate enemies with shields.

i believe some ranged weapons cant damage even with headshots you need a crit to even damage the chaos warr.

Charged Melee attacks are the most reliable way to kill any armoured character.

I've had little issue killing them with dual axes.

...but it may take a while without some armour piercing help from a team mate.
