How much does Easy-Anti Cheat record on your PC? Screenshots while running game?
Disclaimer: This is about Easy-Anti Cheat, if you don't want to read this type of topic, and feel it is "over and done with, don't bring it up", Just don't bother responding. Please.

Is that your entire desktop if youre in windowed mode or what? Isn't that an illegal invasion of privacy?

Do most of you support this?

I own the first game, it didn't have this stupid Easy-Anti Cheat garbage, why add it now? And apparently RIGHT BEFORE release?

Does it even stop hackers? Have hackers bypassed it yet proving to many that they added an unnecessary root-kit to the game for no reason?

Yes the screen shots are locally hosted on your computer in a hidden folder to be uploaded to EAC, someone else is not going to have access to this.

None of those mean anything, is the issue.

People seem to be confused about what a violation of privacy is.

You're worrying about nothing, because the real reason you have an issue with EAC isn't privacy. ;)

All of this EAC nonsense is news to me. I had no idea it was randomly uploading screenshots of my ingame fullscreen gameplay and my desktop.

But at the same time, innocent people dont run. They have nothing to hide.

I dont cheat. I dont care.

Unless an EAC screenshot from me happens to be 30+ Firefox tabs of e 621 Furry porn.

Then its on them. Not me.

Hope you like reptiles <3

That's got to be the most ignorant statement I've read this week. Assumptions based on absolutely nothing. Sometimes I just don't know whether to laugh my ass off or burst out crying over people like you. I can only guess at how your mind must work, but when I do I always come to the conclusions of "Wh... What?".

Oh, look. Another filthy pirate upset he can't play the game.

I was reading reports of what players who installed this service says it does. It also says that it does this itself within its own TOS.

A right to not have your usage of your property recorded by a third party, and then posted online for all to see?

You just said it was secured,

I guarantee you that your personal information is already floating around on the internet.

EAC localizes it's screen shots to a fairly secure database that requires stronger encryption to get into than most websites that require a login/password.

but as you can see these can become publicly posted?

I'll give everyone a hint about EAC and just anti-cheats in general. Cheaters / Hackers will always win no matter what anti-cheats do. There will always be a way around anything they implement. So EAC taking screenshots of your computer is a just a privacy issue in the end as cheaters have found a way to bypass that too. What stops them from taking screenshots of you tabbed out of your game watching movies, porn, or working from home on a secret project for NASA or a EAC rival, completely nothing. So yeah if you don't make a stand for your privacy and stop anti-cheats from becoming completely invasive on your PC when will you? Maybe a next feature they will add will be webcam recordings to make sure you are not wearing a anonymous face mask.

If you wanna break the record - oldest necroed thread - good job.

Digging up discussions from three years ago without good reason isn't a productive use of time for anyone here. If you take issue with EAC, then maybe pass on playing Vermintide 2. Still want to talk about it? That's cool, but a new thread is preferred if there isn't an active one in the last few weeks.
