What does "Illusion" mean?

I think you mean to just type "illusion" instead of "illusion mean." Why put both in quotes?

Good question, what does it all mean, is the world an illusion, do we exist. Does warlord love elves too much? Important stuff.

Exactly. That's why I've been looking around for what illusion on my hammer meant. It looks like every other two hand hammer, which look like the starter hammer for the dwarf. Maybe things don't look different until way later levels?

It means the illusion you have is of the default hammer, you can remove it and apply it to a higher level variant that looks pretty to make your great pretty gear look like trash.

I've gotten a few illusions that are actually special looking items and a few that are clearly just default skins you can remove and apply to pretty things.
