Exactly. That's why I've been looking around for what illusion on my hammer meant. It looks like every other two hand hammer, which look like the starter hammer for the dwarf. Maybe things don't look different until way later levels?
I've gotten a few illusions that are actually special looking items and a few that are clearly just default skins you can remove and apply to pretty things.
