How is block affected by stamina shield?
Hi

I have a question I've been wanting to ask for a long time, everytime you block a hit you loose a stamina shield

How is the performce of blocking affected when you run out of stamina shields?

Or does stamina shields only affect your ability to knock back targets?

If you take too many successive hits without stamina your block breaks and every follow up attack deals full damage and there is nothing you can do about it.

The amount of hits this transition takes is probably determined by enemy stagger power? I've had my block broken instantly but I also had run out of stamina as IB with a shield and taken half a dozen slave rat hits without it breaking. It can be very forgiving,

2 stamina = 1 shield.

That's all the info i know, hope it helps.
No there is a limited to stamina "damage" but most weapons don't exceed it with their max stamina. With shields or a bunch of block cost reduction you can easily take those as well.

2 stamina = 1 shield is true, except for talent descriptions. They broke consistency there.

what i've noticed in-game is :
- some attacks destroy half of your shield
- some attacks destroy 1 shield
- Heavy attacks destroy ALL shields no matter how many u have.

2 stamina = 1 shield.

That's all the info i know, hope it helps.

When you run out of shields and you block a hit, your block gets broken. Meaning your defense is forcefully opened and you get stunned for a few sesconds. If you are facing multiple enemies attacking you, it's likely an instant death.

Each enemy attack does a certain amount of "Stamina damage"
This is affected by item stats and talents: Block Cost reduction.

Only Bosses, Maulers and Chaos Warriors can (usually) destroy all stamina shields with heavy attacks.
Stormvermin take 5 with overheads

I'm unsure how exactly attacks from the rear count, but I think they might do double stamina damage from behind.

Each attack have its own stamina value. If you block them from "frontal arc" direction (it displayed on top-right part of weapon stats) you recieve normal stamina damage. If you block smth outside of this arc - you recieve double stamina damage.

THere are block cost reduction properties anbd talents, that allows you to further reduce value of stamina damage you recieve. Also there are some talents that removes your block cost fully (like IB career skill)

Also if you only BLOCK - you keep regenerating stamina even when you recieve damage (unlike VT1), it stops regenerating if you got your block broken or if you push. Dodges does not stop stamina regeneration.

ALso after you run out of stamina shields next attack you recieve (dont forget that you keep regenerating stamina, so if you have even 0,1 stamina - it is still not 0, so you need to recieve 3 attacks in fast sequence to make it happen, or heavy attack followed by any other attack) would make you off-balanced and you would have 1 hit tolerance for next damage incoming. But only 1, so next incoming hit would apply damage to your character.

So, generally, if you have horde more dense, than you can safely strike iwith your weapon - hold block, try to make them in front of you, and keep dodging sideways, until you would have reasonable amount of enemies close to you, then push, make some strikes (depends on your weapon) and then, depends on situation, keep performing that sequence or keep striking.

Careeers with increase stamina regen and trinket that boost it helps you a lot with harsh situations, especially when you`re last man standing. My favorite trinket is curse resistance + stamina recovery exactly cause of it. Handmaiden and IB can block even 4 CW overheads w/o taking damage if they are not totally simultaneous.

Each full shield is 2 stamina and i imagine each enemy deals different amounts to your stamina. For example, basic Infantry units would only cost like 0.2 stamina for example.
