Third-person camera to reduce motion sickness
My wife has never been able to play games in a first-person without getting terribly motion-sick, including nausea and a headache. Increasing FOV, turning off view bob, fiddling with motion-blur etc... all help. But the thing that helps the most is support for a third-person perspective. This isn't a matter of "playing more" to get over it, she's a hardcore gamer and has had this problem for over a decade.

Please consider adding a third-person camera option, even if it's not perfect.

Go play any console game if you want 3rd person nonsense.

There wont be an official option for it as the game is clearly designed for FP, but there will be a mod just like in the first game. When it will release tho is unknown.

She can wear a wristband rubber that helps with motion sickness, works just fine.

I'm surprised you didn't find a way to troll about the elf this time.

If it's an option how would it impact you?

We've tried the wristband and motion-sickness pills -neither work.

i think the game would be cool with a 3rd person mode.. plenty of RPGs have them such as skyrim where you can toggle it with a simple click.

I have never heard of this. Usually this has to do with FoV. How does having a character standing in your vision mitigate this? The view is controled exactly the same as a First Person game.

I'm one of those gamers that get terribly sick trying to play games with a narrow FoV in First AND Thrid Person games just the same. I couldn't complete Dead Space because the FoV was super tight, despite also being a 3rd person game. Looking over the shoulder, or through the characters eyes does absolutley nothing, it's all about the perspective and how much you can see.

Which games are you talking about that let you switch that make her feel better?

many of us have been gaming longer than you've been alive. motion sickness is pretty common and games such as Dying Light have a bunch of options specifically for this.
motion sickness is also pretty common in VR games.. doubt the people who spend $800 on VR aren't "hardcore" enough ..

Increase your Fov and turn off the head moving option

Some research has been done that suggests having a fixed object in the middle of the viewport reduces motion sickness:

Any game that lets her switch between 1P and 3P. Ark, and most MMOs for example. She can play any game with a 3P camera and can't play any with 1P. We've fiddled with all the viewbob, motion blur, and FOV settings in different games and while we can reduce the issue for her it doesn't eliminate it.

She's mostly a hardcore ranked MOBA player so it's not a debilitating issue for her, but I can't play MOBAs with her (she's always Diamond whatever and I'm... not) and it would be nice if we could play more shooters together.

While it's not a bad idea, precision aiming (aka head clicking) is a pretty big part of Vermintide, especially for specials. She might be able to play but she would be severly handicapped.
