What is hero power?
So just grinded to my level 7 ironbreaker dwarf, I had 75 power with all basic white items but then I opened up my chests and got some greens with 20-40 power. I put on those but it only increased my power by about 10. Can someone explain hero power, please and thank you.

It's how powerful you are

Can you go a bit more detailed than that, I already knew that displays how powerful you are but I want to know how it works.

Hero power effects
How many mobs you cleave through
How much 'Stagger' you apply with each attack.
Damage.

Correct me if I am wrong. I'm quite new at this game.

You are correct that is on the Hero Power display, I assume that is the most people currently know about Hero Power and how it works, thank you. I'd wish we find out how is hero power based on your items added since having a 40 power axe seems to add 2 hero power.

Hero power is hero level*10 + average of item powers.

Level 15 bardin with all 120 items will be hero power of

15*10 + 120 = 270 total hero power

If you want an explanation of what your hero power does, j_sat has done a great video.

Thanks to Jedzenie for finding the link.

So best thing here is to go with Hero Power i believe. If you have a green item with 45 Hero power and some random stat, and you get a white item with 60 Hero power (with no stat). Go for the white one with best Hero Power

Thank you for providing the link. Harder to find on mobile while at work. :p

Hero power level means how far you can block push back enemies & how many you can cut through normal enemies in one swing.

This is why down the road normal difficulty will become a walk in the park & not worth your time at higher power levels.

Source: I watched live twitch steam of the devs talking about it.
