Or use your ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ brain. The game mechanics are one thing, but the controls are extremely simple. Between T, F, and E, which are the only keys that perform some sort of context-sensitive action, you seriously never figured it out? People figured out pinging in V1 within the first few hours, but you're sitting at a combined ~37hrs of beta gameplay without ever realizing what that one key did?
Yes. Ping might tell you everything you need to know about the mechanic.
For me Ping is sonar and modem related.
Did you play "Ping" with your friends when you were a kid? Or did you play "Tag"
Is it so hard to call it "Ping/Tag"?
Both "ping" and "tag" are common terms in video games for the act of marking something for your team's attention. Using the same terms for both wouldn't be a bad idea, but it's not exactly rocket science...
You would be surprised. I have never used it in a game before. I must be so lucky.
You mean to tell me you looked at the term "Tagging Mobs X Y Z" and couldn't rationalize that "Ping Target" in the Keybindings might have played a role in this?
I have pretty much never seen anyone play this game and not knowing how to tag. Even Level 1 newcomers, like a friend of mine, got how that works during the first mission.
Its ok to say that they could improve the description of the keybind or of the skill.
But that doesnt get rid of the fact that there is a slight initiative and responsibility left for the player.
If you want to have a game doing the thinking for you and shoveling all into your mouth so you never have to actually use common sense, then videogames are clearly not for you.
They cant just handhold you through everything. Not saying there cant be improvement in descriptions, like which weapons have which ability or for example the dumb keybind "Mouse Special", but there is a limit and you pretty much reached it.
"Ping Target" would have been easy. It says "PING" and thats all, no connection to targeting in the tooltip. I did quite a few searches on google and couldnt find any information. So yeah, not really clearcut.
Then i asked here, and got a lot of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ remarks.
Fun fun.
