They already went back on their original plan to reset Weave progression, stated several times now in the subreddit and on their own forums.
The community was also not split in any way that it wasn't already. Weaves are primarily played by people who were already mostly playing within separate discord communities for high level content and not pubbing anywhere near as much. Those are the people that weaves most appealed to, and so its not like them going off to do that instead of playing on modded realm as usual was drawing any more players away from the official matchmaking pool.
The rest can be agreed upon though.
