Flaming Flail
I feel like the temp health gain with this weapon is somewhat off.
As Unchained you have hitting multible enemies and stagger as options and both seem so do barely anything, especialy the charged attacks. Although u see hordes flying left and right and are able to knock fanatics and maulers to the floor, the health bar barely notices.

Thp on stagger doesn't trigger if you kill the enemy. That's basically the whole problem, you usually kill a good amount of rats in a single swing and stagger the survivors.

Thp on cleave works properly on it, it just doesn't have that much cleave and thp on cleave talent in general only shines in the hands of something like mercenary kruber

Nah, this weapon indeed is ♥♥♥♥♥♥ for THP on stagger. With first attack you cant get more than one instance of THP gain no matter what. At least with second you take proper amount.

It is issue right from beta, sadly still not fixed. At this point i recommend to use combos with pushattacks if you want to quickly gain THP or to switch to a mace.

Flaming sword and Dagger are far better for THP on stagger, tbh

I´d say thats something FS should look into, just tried with Flaming Sword and the difference is massive. It seems as if the explosion from the first Heavy does not count towards the THP gain.

The AOE explosion effect that the flaming flail has on the first charged attack is similar to the stagger effect of a bomb. Since the explosion doesn't use the stagger effect of a normal melee attack, it doesn't produce any temp HP on stagger, as that talent relies on the melee stagger strength. You only get temp HP from targets staggered from the impact of the flail itself, not the explosion.

Definitely poorly implemented. It may seem like it would be an easy fix, but with Fatshark being masters of spaghetti, I wouldn't be all that surprised if a fix turned out to be quite complex, if we ever get one at all.
Just goes to show that Fatshark should've done some better testing (or listening to feedback during the beta) before pushing out a massive overhaul that takes several patches to fix months after.

Unchained Sienna has quite a bit more total health overall than the other 2 professions, so the amount of temphealth gained seems less on the healthbar.

Aye, 150 base HP vs 100 on the other two classes. Can get to 180 hp with a +20% health talent.

I always play with the numeric ui mod, so i know exactly how much thp i have, so that has absolutely nothing to do with it
and, like i have already written above, the difference to e.g. the Flaming Sword is like day and night.

Problem might be that enemies who die by burning do not count as melee kills. Heavy attack 1 mostly kills enemies by DoT i believe.
Same goes for buring enemies to death with Fire Walk or any other ranged weapon with DoT.

They count as kills, but neither as melee or ranged kills (which is why for example you have 500 total kills but only 30 melee and 50 ranged after a run when u play Battle Wizard).

So if heavy 1 burns enemies to death, they don´t count as melee kills and you might no get THP from it when you choose THP from killing.

Nah, we are talking about Confound talent - THP on stagger

Fsword 1st heavy is awesome for this:
- has extremely wide area - much wider, than you can imagine by it's visual
- has no targets limit
- has very strong stagger power - comparible with shield pushes

There is legitimate bug with flail - it only counts one unit for purpose of THP gain on stagger. Exactly one you strike. No units hit by explosion counts towards this. ENd of story.
