Why is the second game so much cheaper than the first game?
Hey guys

I haven't bought any of the Vermintide games yet, but I these are something I keep my eye on since I've started playing Warhammer games ( Thanks Dawn of War and Total War Warhammer).

I was just wondering, why is the second game cheaper than the first game, even when its not on sale? In my country's currency the first game is R315, while the second game is R 175 and R 245 for the collectors edition.

Does the second game have more microtransactions or lootboxes or something to make up the price difference?

Thanks.

For me, VT1 is £22.99, VT2 is £23.99, Altho VT2 is currently 60% off so down to like £9 or so.
Also no, There are no Micros or lootboxes (Well, Other than the ingame reward ones, But they are not the gambling ♥♥♥♥ that you are used to in current days)

V2 is currently on a -60% dscount, while V1 is not. So its pretty obvious why V2 is cheaper.
Also there are no microtransactions.

Maybe the first game was priced incorrectly for your region and they never fixed it.

Back when the dev's made VT2 they said they wanted to charge less for it since at the time there was endless debated on why all games are arbitrarily 60$ so they wanted some good publicity.
As for why they didn't lower the price as much for the first game after the fact I wouldn't know. Maybe publisher problems or something.

Edit: Looking at the prices of both games the cost ist the same in my region not counting sales.

Both games V1 and V2 retailed for $29.99 on launch. No price difference.

Ok then this regional pricing thing work really weirdly.

If "R" stands for Rubles - then you just misloocked. Base price for vt2 is 515R and for vt1 is 499R.

Was a $1 sale at a legit site for Vermintide 1 (part of a 5 for 5 game sale). A friend bought 5 copies and gave them away. V1 has been in bundles by another well known site. As to why the list price remains where it is, good question. Even at list price the game is cheap if you really get into it.

It stands for Rands. South African Rands I don't understand why people keep insisting that I am the one making the mistake here, should I take screenshots to prove what I am saying is what I see?

It is common for people to make mistakes. Dont be insulted. People around (at least most of them) are really trying to help you sort things out with limited info they have.

But, of course, providing screenies would massively help :)

Yeah sorry I was bit triggered there. Long day at work and all that...

Edit: Ok I don't know if there's a way to post pics on Steam discussions, but here's some screenshot on Imgur:

Y'all will see that even without the Steam sale the standard edition and collectors edition is much cheaper for the second game in my country.
