They could/should award the weave weapon skins as skins for your regular weapons for achieving a certain standing.
And they could make different colored variants for solo, duo, trio...
And they could change them up slightly according to season...
So maybe there will be those kinds of incentives for playing weaves. Eventually.
I mean, really think about it for a second. Someone pitched that idea and enough people in the room agreed with them that it happened. They made a separate game inside this game, that is effectively the same game. It's trufax nuts. They may as well have put an arcade machine in the keep and had you play it in 3rd person over your character's shoulder.
Utterly useless mode as of now. Just look at the requirements for season 1, 40 games per career gives you 1 commendation chest, 600 finished weave runs just to get 15 commendation chests? Wow fatshark, big thanks.
Weaves aren't the endgame. If they were the endgame, they would come "after" the regular content in some rational sense. But weave equipment and talents are isolated from the main game. There's almost no relationship other than the unlock. That makes weaves their own game.
Which is what makes it so nutty.
I'm still new to it but if it turns out they strip you of all your progress with a seasonal leaderboard system then I'll retract everything I've said about it...
normal maps give essence because 99% of the playerbase revolted and quit with the DLC, and the few people who did play weaves past beta(even those who didn't) pointed out the insane grind with weaves. they added essence to normal maps and made the amulet shared across all heroes to help alleviate that. some people don't get it and that's okay though.
keep on grinding a standalone mode, never referred to as the end game by FS, and tell yourself you've finally beaten VT2.
