It matters hugely. We at Fatshark are politically neutral and will remain as such. We don't allow threads of politics but given the gravity of this situation were allowing this thread to remain open until it gets out of hand or is closed by the platform themselves. When accused of removing posts it becomes important to use the facts as to their removal and not just point as us and say were censoring.

In this case (and every accusation of censorship levied our way in the past such as when WoM launched) it isn't something we've been involved in.

A warning feature was added a while back and can be customised by both Devs and wider platform moderators when issued. At the top of the warning dialogue it tells you who took said action. We just ask that the information is used to paint the true picture and not an assumed one.

Here ends our input.

What's your definition of "big talk"? It is old news.
Old news. Everybody knew when that happened.

From wikipedia:

In March 2018, Tencent acquired a 5% stake in Ubisoft from Vivendi,[151][152] and in May 2018 it acquired a majority stake in the New Zealand company Grinding Gear Games, the developers of the game Path of Exile.[153][154] As of March 2018, Tencent is the largest video game company in the world.[155] Tencent wholly or partially owns game companies Grinding Gear Games (80%),[156] Miniclip (undisclosed majority stake),[157] Riot Games (100%)[158] Glu Mobile (14.46%),[159] Epic Games (40%),[160] Activision Blizzard (5%),[160] Ubisoft (5%),[160] Paradox Interactive (5%),[161] and Supercell (84.3%).[162]

For those who cant read more than 3 sentences:
  • Riot Games (League of Legends) - 100 percent
  • Epic Games - 48.4 percent
  • Bluehole (PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds) - 11.5 percent
  • Ubisoft - 5 percent
  • Activision Blizzard - 5 percent
  • Grinding Gear Games (Path of Exile) - 80 percent
  • Supercell - 84.3 percent
  • Frontier Developments - 9 percent
  • Kakao - 13.5 percent
  • Paradox Interactive - 5 percent
  • Fatshark - 36 percent
  • Funcom - 29 percent
  • Sharkmob - 100 percent
Plus they are founding discord as well.

Well I agree, free HK. But don't beat up Fatshark over it, they didn't beat up any protesters.

Edit: Or take anyone's prize money.

Ok, i'm out. I don't even know where it is.
All of those are words and events that are banned in china and cause instant flagging by chinese moderators spying on everybody, they have been known to ban sites and companies that allow this copy pasta because it shows exactly what they are.

Copy and paste it far and wide to piss them off.

EDIT: Either fatshark/steam will ban me or lock this topic or hope that it drops off and they can ignore it.

Highly doubt your words would be heard.
People nowdays are getting stupider day by day, especially if they are in a herd.
A single person can think
4-5 can have a debate
10+ and you have a mindless horde (36% = majority, FS sold his soul, etc.)

Is there any way of importing any chinese good without in some way supporting the Chinese government? OTHER than smuggling?

I don't know about this. I'm not an expert on it and there's too much I don't know.

What does Tencent's stake in the company mean in terms of how much influence they have, for example. I have no idea. What does 36% constitute? A third? Nothing? Something else?

Edit: Also, it occurs to me that these things are often not so black and white, like with the trade of goods example I used-- yeah, part of your money sent to any chinese company will go to the government...but part of it will go to chinese workers who made the product, too. And if you cut off all trade because you're displeased with how the chinese government treats its people, you'd end up hurting those people pretty badly along with yourself in economic terms. So I don't know, it seems to me like there's a multitude of angles to this.

Edit: Apparently I don't know the difference between Edit and Reply. Time for a nap.
