Spawning enemies everywhere!!!
What's up with the ridiculous enemy spawning in this game? Do people actually enjoy this crap? Sometimes they even spawn right in your face or right behind you. And dont even get me started on the super long wave fights that never end. This is super frustrating, especially in VR.

Remember that the game is originally from 2001, I think they pride themselves on exactly that, the number of enemies, and it's something that sets the game apart from its' contemporaries 🤣 Even the upcoming Serious Sam 4 has been promoted with "100k enemies on screen at one time!" so yeah... it's how things should be 😅

That said, I'm stuck in the pyramid arena, not sure how to beat that, so I hear what you're saying. Outside of that it has been a matter of deciding which weapon to use, what works in each scenario with a few trial and errors.

I turned down the difficulty to easy and it got much better. It’s actually fun now :-)

Yeah, that might be what I do. I only have like a quarter of the game to go, so I feel like I could do it all on normal, but then again there's only that much motivation I have because I still have the entire second game to play as well. Funny enough I cleared the third game first as I took part of a multiplayer streaming event 😅

Let me tell you a little secret, Easy in our games is usually balanced to fit the concept of Normal in other games. :)

So don't beat yourself about it.

Easy it is! Thanks for making me feel better about it 🤣

This game depending on settings can be fun to uber hard to beyond impossible hard depending. It's fun if you find the sweet spot that fits you! The game is very well done to be able to adapt to most decent to insane good players.

I've been fine on Normal until the gauntlet with all the charging bull things and cow demons by the boatload with a spike pit behind and nowhere to go but forward down the "hallway". Now that I've seen Danny's comment I feel a little less ashamed at how many times I've failed and am still failing at it.

Nobody plays this game unless you want to kill some ♥♥♥♥. Lots of it!! This game is not made for weak noobs although you can make it do as such. This is a killing game of insane! That is what SS games are. Welcome to Serious Sam.

I play this game on uber hard and my fingers are on fire and smoking once done.

This game will either make you a man or a super hot girl.

Its not the number of enemies thats the problem, its the spawning behind your back thats the problem. Also I play the game in VR so that makes it even harder than playing it with M+K on a screen.

These games are like that. Doom, Quake, they all have enemies pop up behind you. Usually it makes a noise, are you playing with speakers or a headset? I prefer headset because I can hear better and directionally.

The thing is you have to essentially be paranoid, looking around you all the time. It's part of the challenge and the nerve-wracking nature of it. I play on VR as well. You can turn up your turn speed if you can do smooth turning. Best is if you can turn around in RL to turn in game.

If it helps what I've done to better facilitate turning in VR I got drywall hooks and put three in the ceiling. I clipped some of those retracting carribeners that you might see keys on. Then I just ran my headset wire through them. I got all the supplies at Home Depot for maybe 15 total. https://i.imgur.com/Mefgm4d.jpg Pic if you want to see. I didn't make it pretty lol. I added an extra hook to hang the headset from. Yes, those are giant googly eyes.

It keeps the wire up out of the playspace and makes it easy to move and turn even in tight spaces. Might help you avoid having to turn with the stick, and it really is more immersive than using the stick.
